Because a Martian Habitat has to be constructed BEFORE YOU LAUNCH FROM EARTH. You can't just go there touch the Regolith and go home. Launch windows and fuel required are big problems. A Habitat has to be in place so that you can spend at least one year on Mars. Even Elon is not rich enough for that.
