Without a doubt, 'Pull' was probably the best album that Winger made. The subsequent reunion albums in the 2000s were great, but 'Pull' was a straight up ass kicker from start to finish.
This conversation with Alan Parsons was much better than the recent Rick Beato interview. Thanks for asking all these interesting question! One day, somebody might ask Alan Parsons about declining to work on "Wish You Were Here". What a ballsy move that was. FWIW, some Alan Parsons Project songs are among my favourite songs and many of them are not just nice or entertaining but inspirational. I once, when I was very young, set up a make shift "quadrophonic" loudspeaker array (was just stereo but using two different kinds of loudspeaker pairs to get four in total), turned off the light and started listening to "The Fall of the Houase of Usher" in the dark. I did not last long, it became too scary and I had to turn the lights on. :)
I could sit and listen to Alan Parsons all day long. He's a very intelligent man. Im attracted to his intelligence. ❤. I will never stop listening to his music.
My guitar teacher,Craig Reno from Fairview heights Illinois taught me that winged was full of real deal pro musicians kinda a super group, I loved the sound and songs and voice! Kips work super inspired me and changed my trajectory
What a shame this crowd didn't know the treat it was in for. You guys are incredible live...not telling you anything you've not heard before though, lol. Heard from the photographer that you're done in the UK, but dearly hoping that isn't the case. Islington was killer and we were all there for it
Greetings Kip and thank you for making time to engage in thought and conversation about the subject of Music with none other than Steve Vai! A couple of observations from my end on the subject. One of my fave quotes is: "Meditation on the Word of God is the highest form of worship." For me at least, as long as I continue reading my Holy Bible, I continue to get revelations and new ideas for what to write and create, which I largely execute in the form of both melody and lyrics. It is rare that I ever end up with a poem, or instrumental, but I have those as well. It makes everything so much easier than not knowing where the source of my creativity is birthed from. Short version: It comes from the One who made the universe and put into motion Audible Light to support His intelligent designs. Another, is that finding my quiet place can be difficult sometimes, but again - I can when I ask God to help me quiet my mind, so I can experience His peace. For those who struggle to experience what peace is, one way to complete an exercise anyone can. First make the statement, preferably out loud: God, I belong to you! And, if needed repeat it as much as is needed. Don't be in any particular hurry, just be still and wait on His response. I and others have done this, and every time someone new has, it is nothing short of amazing! You may literally want to take notes afterward. In our society it can be really hard to turn our thoughts off, but quiet is just the absence of noise or our own thoughts.Peace is a absolutely achievable part of that process. All the best, Lee Bond II singer and songwriter of the band Hekia, an abbreviation for HE knows it all!
