My apartment is about one hundred feet (30 meters?) from the "old 55" mentioned in this song, a stretch of highway known right here as "Veterans Parkway," and if you drove west on it a bit, and then made a right on Main Street, you'd be at the Chicago Farmer's house here in Bloomington, I know cuz I seen him and his dog out in front of they house when I was driving by on Main Street that one time.
I've seen Backyard Tire Fire seventy five (75) times for sure. Mostly at Paulie's on Thursdays with my good old friend Jason who had a garage. Six Strings Club shows (filmed by My Tall Tripod). At the Lafayette Club once. I first saw them at CII East, and that's pronounced, "See Too East." BTF also played several times at the *OLD* Castle Theater, before Rory turned it into a gem of a venue (and before I had this camera), but with Chicago Farmer opening for Tire Fire, it certainly feels like home.
The balloons (stage right) are tied to a champagne bottle that's next to bottle of Jameson's Irish Whiskey there. So after the final encore that night, Scott Tipping saw me and offered me a drink of it and said step up on stage so i did and took a good long pull off that bottle, looking out from the Castle Theater's center stage. Good times.

I don't understand how everyone is just chattering away. Why did they come to the gig, if not to listen? Or did Justin just roll up to some bar and get up onstage? I don't get it. Such a huge talent. Such a great loss.
