Hello, I am Diane a vegan and an environmental textile artist who is passionate about saving beautiful fabric from the landfill. I left my full time job as a Parent Support Adviser safeguarding children in 2022 as my mental health wasn’t good and decided to do 3 things with my life. Work on my upcycling textile art business, let out my home on Airbnb and go travelling in my Mazda Bongo. Sharing my home with guests gives me the opportunity to be free to travel around in my campervan with my 2 cockapoos Zoey and Tessa and visit places in the UK (and maybe Europe when I pluck up courage!) Why not subscribe and follow me on a journey around the UK.
It was great fun and we laughed lots but yes some of those locks were hard! First time we’ve ever been on a canal boat so I think we did really well, especially Beth and Erica. They were more confident than me. X Hope you’re well? X
Very well thanks 😀 I hired a cruiser on the Caledonian Canal years ago - about half an hour into trip we ran aground and had to call the owners out to free us 🤣x
@@dianelincoln5588 oops! 🤣 So glad to hear you’re good. Isn’t life on the canal beautiful? We ran aground too, I let the wooden paddle slip through the hole and it went straight in the canal, flooded the engine bay, panicked, but all good fun!
Haha lots of grey water! We flooded the engine area when we were in the lock. I got wet through but wondered there all the water will have gone. Checked in the manual and found a little button to pump it out. We learnt so much and now have muscles with all of them locks! X
I am so sorry this reply is delayed. I didn’t get a notification and have only just found it. I got a double just for me but I fold it in half so I have the extra comfort to lay on.
Thank you so much for the comment and for watching my video’s. I love Vera the Bongo but I’ve just been on a hired canal boat for 4 days and I think I want one!
Aww this is lovely to read. I have a link of my canal boat trip with my daughters but don’t;t know how to share with selected people. I have a link. Do you use FB messenger or Instagram as I’ll send it to you. X
Awwww that’s so lovely of you to say. I haven’t been on any proper adventures apart from the Lake District but was having van issues (diesel heater and electrics) so didn’t feel inspired to vlog. What this space….. I’ll be back soon xx
Hello Jeanette! Lovely to hear from you. Where have you gone on an adventure? Hope the weather hasn’t been as bad as you had expected. I was away with my daughter but unfortunately she had a seizure so we spent a day in A&E and then came home. I need to get back into vlogging and will try now that I’ve come out of hibernation! I hate the winter months. Think I need to go abroad in winter. I’m on instagram and I do have Facebook but don’t post or interact on there but I use messenger. Take care xx
really enjoyed that and all my thoughts, you actually spieled out during the video a special place and one for my list ,did you have to use the low gear on the bongo or did it cope in drive ,first time ive seen a full pic of your van very nice and i love the colour ,enjoy your travels your on the money with all you've said in the vid put glen coe on your list if you aint done it ,im going through your vids and new subscriber so not sure what you've done, like you've said leave it as you find it nature at its best 😊
Hi Sam thank you for joining me 😉 I used the low gears for going down hills to avoid braking as much but she went up the hills no problem in ‘drive’. I did stop at Glen Coe but only to take some pics of the 3 sisters but intend to go back and explore the area as it’s stunning. Thanks for your kind words about Vera. I’ve reversed my middle seats which is so much better. ☺️
@@littlemissmoffattontheroad thanks for reply, yes a tidy little van they can go anywhere ,and adaptable ,and yer find a option to suit ,enjoy it, great vids i too cant wait to return to scotland simply stunning cheers sam
lovely scenery,im looking at a mazda bongo ,can i ask has it let you down ,alot on you tube seem to have endless problems with them ,which was a bit off putting but i like the size of em and think they would be nice to drive thanks sam
Hi Sam sorry for delay in replying, only just seen your comments. Thank you for subscribing to my channel. Vera the Bongo was running like a dream until I’ve recently had a diesel heater fitted by a mobile guy and he did some electric work too. I’m having issues as the heater is leaking! The leisure battery was draining too but I think he’s fixed that. They’re lovely to drive and I find them big enough for me and my furry girls. Great that they fit in carparks with height barriers and fit in a normal parking space. Vera was a fresh import so no rust and she’s been under sealed. She’s a guzzler on the fuel too. Diane
How nice to see you and the furry friends back! We adore the Lake District. Mr GST's grandmother is at rest at Buttermere. Well done for driving the Honiston pass. It's quite the adventure!
Sorry for the delay, haven’t been on YT much these days/weeks! Awww it sounds like Buttermere is a very special place for you. Honister Pass wasn’t too bad after doing Applecross Pass in the Highlands! Hope you’re both well. X
Hi Diane, ooh been waiting for one of your videos. Nice to see you back. Lovely footage. Beautiful views over the hills and lakes. Then the coast with the pretty painted boats. The photos of the Robin were cute. Lovely to see the pups again xx Julie x
Hello Julie thank you for appreciating the Lake District, it’s absolutely stunning isn’t it and I must admit I haven’t done much of the Lakes but i will definitely go back. Hope you are all well, including Archie and Belle. X
@@littlemissmoffattontheroad glad you enjoyed your trip. Yes the lakes are lovely. Well, I’m poorly at the moment started with loosing my voice then croaky and now got this awful itchy cough and sore throat. Been like it 3 weeks now. So many bugs about. I tested myself thinking it was Covid but I’m negative. Never mind keep soldering on. Not good when you want to make videos though xx take care x
Wow fabulous footage Diane. Had seen your Instagram photos but this video put your trip into more context. Had to chuckle at you telling Zoe not to look down as she crossed the bridge 😂
Aww looks like you had an amazing time with the girls Diane Harvey and I both send our love and best wishes for 2024 and hope to catch up with you this year ❤xx
The Lake District is absolutely stunning Tracey, although you living in Scotland you’ve got lochs everywhere, lucky you. Love back to you and Harvey, hope to meet up on our travels. X
It’s just stunning isn’t it? Ive hopefully got the electrics sorted so I can go off again. Leisure battery was drained, diesel heater wouldn’t work and coolant alarm going off at 4.30 am made my decision to go home a day early x
Awww how lovely of you to ask Jeanette, thank you. I’m good thanks and I’m happy to say my mojo has come back for sewing although I will be taking off in Vera once I have the diesel heater fitted. How are you? Hope you’re keeping well and warm. I’ll have to add a video of me being creative and sewing in Vera! Xx
@@littlemissmoffattontheroad I’m good thanks just looking at getting a few nights away in Mouse before the weather turns very cold here in the North East Scotland xx
What a stunning area. As car parks go, that’s pretty stunning. I love the architecture in French towns, it’s so beautiful and unspoilt. You can’t beat lunch and a paddle! Gorgeous video 🍻
Lovely video. We’ve just found your channel. Your dogs are gorgeous! Love their sand rolling. It looks like you’ve had an a song time, we will be checking out more videos 🍻
Really enjoyed this one. I only ever take the ferry because it works out much cheaper but the tunnel looks much easier and of course quicker! Thanks for taking the time to document your French trip. really enjoyed binge watching the last ones. xx
Hi Denise thank you so much for binge watching my videos! I want to travel to Spain next year but unsure how best to get there with Zoey and Tessa so need to research ferries. The girls are absolutely loving van life! X
Glad it’s just not me talking to the pooches although I never see anyone talking to their own! I bet they do it discreetly, where as I ask mine questions? 😂 x
They certainly did, they’d waited the whole 3 weeks to have a good roll and run about on the beach. So glad to hear you are feeling much better. It really took it out of you didn’t it? Take care x
It took mine 2 months to come though from France on my way back from the UK in the summer so hopefully the film was full or not even in there. Fingers crossed that is the case for you. x
Oh no ! So you got caught on camera? I’d forgotten about it so it’ll be an unwanted and unexpected not welcome mail! It definitely flashed so I’m sure it’ll eventually turn up. Booo! X

Hello Denise, I haven’t been on RU-vid for ages and I’ve just found your comments. I am so sorry I didn’t reply to them and I hope you don’t think I was rude. I hope you and your family are well. X
Hi Diane, a lovely morning, nice view of the ferry. Zoey and Tessa rolling on the beach so funny. OOh I could see how upset you were to be leaving. I think you were so brave going on your own, i would be a nervous wreck. Your brilliant. It will be no time before you are planning your next trip. Loved your France trip. Take care x Julie x
Hi Diana, what a lovely video of your last day, the sea views were so stunning, nice to see the pups enjoying themselves. Yes i talk to our Archie all the time x Were they collecting cockles or mussels. Beautiful footage of the cliffs. Thank you for sharing x Julie and Tony x
