Seems, according to you, remembering past is a sign of going down hill. Many similar programs remember Kurosawa. But Japan is perhaps (if you kindly agree) not going "downhill". Or is it? Closer home, Maharastrians organize elaborate functions in Pune to remember one past composer called RD Burman. Is Maharastra going "downhill" too? In Gujarat, 3000 crore was spent to erect a statue to remember a past leader. Many Gujaratis (as well as others) visit the statue. Will it result Gujarat going down hill? If not for others, how this particular interview series decisively show why Bengalis are going down the hill? Bengal's downhill journey started long back when Ray was shining his brightest. The interview series is remembering the master by sharing experiences of his actors who perhaps won't live forever. Your erudite and enlightening response will be deeply appreciated.
A third class interview. This interviewer does not know abc of an interview. He is totally oblivious of Mamata Shankar’s association with the film “Agantuk”. We’d like to know how Satyajit Ray the great revealed the characters in Agantuk. Did he discuss it with other actors or actresses other than Utpal Dutta ? Did he explain the shuttle change of relationship between Mamata Shankar and Dipankar De after the arrival of Utpal Dutta ? Did he write the musical score of the Santhali dance himself ?
