I’ve been having same issues for 2 years…thought it was rain… but happens with no rain. I do not have your mechanical skills but I think this video is invaluable
Nice job I have water in the passenger footwell on my TT coupe been driving me mad also, will remove the scuttle and clear the drain holes and check the pollen filter and seal where you have shown. Door drains are clear as checked them. Have had a fair bit of rain lately. Been using a dehumidifier and cat litter to try and dry the area out really need to take the carpet out but that’s a mission!
I put another 50k miles on after replacing the DRV. Then after 4 years the high pressure fuel pump internally disintegrated into metal filings and killed everything on the fuel system. At 210k miles (338k km), I called it a day and sold it on as broken.
Rubber Bumper: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HuRVfYANc1g.html Make sure you remove all rust down to the bare metal, then apply Phosphoric Acid, until it turns black, then paint with primer, and enamel. Some joker may have just tried to paint over the rust to hide it so... you got your work cut out for you everywhere. Rust is like tooth decay... you want it all gone, everywhere.
Had a family member who bought this exact stereo for their 66 oldsmobile. Almost 30 years ago. The car has been sitting for quite some time. What are the chances the stereo is still good?
hi simon i havent been offered a project on a 1965 simca 1100. it hasnt run in 2 years. i am 19 with a minimal amount of mechanical knowledge. i just want to get on your advice and first steps on starting a classic car for the first time in a while.
We’ve just bought a late 70’s MG BGT just over a week ago , my girlfriend drove it home and I followed in our 1967 Morris minor , I struggled to keep up with her 😂 , she put it in the garage , we went to go out in her Sunday morning and she just turned over like yours but failing to start , there’s conflicting views on how much choke to use , the moggy likes full choke to get her started then she pushes it into half way then backs her out the garage, you say just a smidge where as others say full choke , Wendy tried full as she does on the moggy and eventually she flooded , we left it about 30 minutes and she tried again and ran the battery flat , so we took the faithful moggy , a 24 hour recharge and Monday morning Wendy had the same outcome trying to go to work and eventually jumped into the moggy and she fired up 2nd try , I’ve just been out this morning to try her with just a smidge of choke and she’s just turning over , I increased the choke out to half way and I got a few splutters but that’s it , any ideas bud ?
I had brand new vintage Sparkomatic that not yet been installed. I confuse about the negative speaker cable since there is only 2 cables for speakers ( green and grey ). Where is the negative cable for speakers ?
Mine has just started doing this today, when driving very slow (like parking etc) - Sounds awful. I figured it might be the strut mount, I think video confirms it - I'll check tomorrow. Thanks for this video, very useful!
Absolutely gorgeous one of my favourite cars and a great basis for a resto project and for goodness sake replace that hideous steering wheel with the original banjo type they are beautiful and they’re lovely to hold when driving
