He’s a musical thief. An imposter leaching the energy created by Jerry and the Grateful Dead without any overview any humility or reverence. The Walking Ungrateful Dead and Bad Co staring Oscar Mayer and his overestimated weener is repulsive to many I know. And without hesitation a reckless craven heartbreak. I’m on the right side of truth in musical history covering up musical masterpieces for self serving is digging there own musical grave. The legacy is thievery and ingratitude Jerry Saved
I beg to differ. I've been listening to the Grateful Dead almost daily for 45 years, had the blessing to see Jerry play around 100 times. I loved the Phil Lesh Quintet, appreciated Furthur, but never went to see Dead and Co.... but not because of Mayer. Weir, Hart and even O'teil played with such lethargy that I could not imagine paying money and spending time to be annoyed. Watching Mayer play, I have prayed that he will find another group to play these songs. Mayer's attributes are not meant to emulate Garcia - he's got his own style and has plenty of soul. As for being on the right side of truth, musical tastes are mainly subjective - either you relate to a performance or you don't.
Isnt that the hotdog guy,,,what the fk is he doin with Bob Weird,im sure I DONT KNOW EITHER,,,but when you have great managment,,,i guess you can pretend 2 be anyone,,,even me myself,at are last gig,i had 2 channel,everyone from Hendrix to Malmsteen,toEric Johnson,but i did it with reverence poise,and exicution to the original artist,when i heard there versiom of franklins tower with him on vocal,,,it was a mistake,turned me off completely,as a dead head since,1977,200 shows,in my life,it was like watchin a cover band,Dark Star is tight,i think iys great that someone cares as much as they do adout the truth of the improvisational danger of pouring your soul out,as apposed to just trying 2 copy whats been layed down already,but thats the world we dont live in,those of you out there who read this should realize,true art is what we do as artists,to confirm my claim,look up,Things that you shouldnt do,or Ghostdance,these songs are some of my work as a guitarist and songwriter,i think its a situation that is mute,to try fill somebody elses shoes,just fill your own,that is enough of a task....
A DSO show is, truthfully speaking, more entertaining than seeing any of the remaining members. Not a slight to the original members. It's just that time catches up to everyone, and the energy of youth is required to give something life again.

I never made it to a Dead Show. I was in Santa Cruz, CA right after Jerry died. There was a really live Dead Scene when I was in college there. I dropped college to make glass pipes.
