Can You help me? I choosing between Nikon MHG 8x30 and Zeiss CHD 8x32. Personally never looked through them. I making decisions just thanks to reviews and forums (it means almost blindly). I would choose Nikon MHG 8x30 (i like its size and build), but im scared by its flaring/glaring at sunny weather (very many words about it in forums). But on other hand - ZCHD 8x32 dont have flares/glares, pretty bright and sharp, but it really big and heavy for x32. So i dont know which one to choose. If You can answer these 2 questions - i will be much closer to my final decision: 1. In Your personal opinion how much Nikon MHG 8x30 flaring and glaring on sun? 2. Maybe You remember - how does picture of NMHG 8x30 vs ZCHD 8x32 in general? Thank You

C5? This looks like c90mak
@kishascape
@kishascape 2 года назад
No it doesn't. The c90 is smaller and the front lens is curved in more since it's a Maksutov. It's all dimmer, F/14 or so versus the F/10 of the c5. But the C90 is more portable in size and also because maksutov is more durable. It also comes with nice backpack to carry it.

Old fashioned system? The lens physically moves inside the barrel to focus with a “false” glass cap lens - so what you point to as the objective lens isn’t actually the objective lens and so they aren’t really the smaller version of the 42s as they are built fundamentally differently. However they look splendid and are no doubt superb.

I own this scope and can attest that it's build and Image Quality are top notch. I don't see how the far more expensive scopes available could be much better.

I'm wondering if it's razor sharp and crystal clear when zoomed all the way at its maximimum magnification.
@nyobunknown6983
@nyobunknown6983 Год назад
@@commonsense5709 Yes it is but for more distant subjects atmospheric haze and disturbances prevent even the best scope from being truly sharp. As heat rises everything tends to get wavy and moving. If you go out on a clear cool night with low humidity and view the moon overhead the scope shines revealing sharply defines craters and mountainss.

I'm referring to nature viewing at 300 yards where there's no atmospheric mirage and haze. What's the max zoom image quality look like when digiscoping a hummingbird or a butterfly in the cool forest at 300yards?
@nyobunknown6983
@nyobunknown6983 Год назад
@@commonsense5709 It looks great but where I live at 300 yards viewing conditions with no mirage or haze are very rare. In those rare times when viewing conditions are ideal you can see a lot of detail.

Thanks for the comments about this scope guys. I'm trying to upgrade from my basic Celestron 20-60 x80 under $200 dollars scope. I was in the process of comparing between the latest Gosky 20-60x80 dual focus ED glass and the Vanguard Endeavor dual focus HD 82A ED glass scopes. Both similar price on Amazon at about $350 dollars. I don't know yet which one is better as far as overall quality and image. Will the image be really substantially improved over my basic Celestron 20-60 x80 scope? Or do I really need to move up to a $900 dollar scope like this Celestron Regal M2 100ED scope to notice substantial improvements. Thank you

In addition to several more ‘traditional’ spotting scopes i have one of these bought on offer for 400 quid. It is a superb bit of kit and i use it for distant habitats like estuaries etc and it goes on a twitch from time to time. I have 50x and 100x lenses. At 100x it is just getting into its stride and still has excellent light-gathering. The ‘poor mans Questar’ is undeserved and it punches above its weight - for the price it is unbelievable value👍🏻 You do however need a decent sturdy tripod which is what you would expect from the high magnification values.

I don’t know why would Celestron call that a spotting scope. Thats a capable telescope. Literally you start off with 50x magnification, and a 5 inch mak is overkill. You use this to see Saturn and Jupiter lol 😂
@kishascape

It's not overkill at all and it's outfitted for terrestrial spotting from the start unlike it's similar NexStar 5. This isn't a scope for pansies.

That's why they invented binoculars, a single ocular scope is fatigue inducing, not even worth the effort.

This is just useless. Yes it's great that they can take some abuse. But this is way overkill. No one will have to put their binoculars through anything like this. I wish they would work on the easthetics instead of durability. We are grown ups after all.

+Thesripper I have a farm and do require them to be that tough. I have dropped them of the back of the pick up, quad and even dropped them of the top of a barn when trying to get a good view of a bear. My son dropped a pair when up on the platform in the barn onto a concrete floor and he was sure they were finished but they still worked like new. They are my go to binocular when hunting, fishing, hiking or mountaineering. There are actually very few reviews out there that put them through their paces. Tell us another review that does this with binoculars.
