I think the problem is that the U.S. has really really “selfish” grandparents, most of them that is. They want to “see” their grandkids occasionally and that’s about the degree of involvement they want to commit. They are also the loudest to tell the grandkids how much they love them ironically. I say this, because I know Asian grandparents, specifically Chinese grandparents default to be heavily involved during the first three years of their grandkids lives, from full time to part time depending on the families. They’d wake up at 5am daily to make a real breakfast (not cereals and crackers), and carry on making 5 meals throughout the day to satisfy the growing needs of the kids, yet they never tell them “I love you”. But what’s a better way to teach kids that actions speak louder than words? Because of heavy involvement from the retired grandparents, the working age parents can either choose to pursue their careers full time without worrying about daycares or stay at home without feeling like they live on a lonely island with their small children. As a result, Asian families tend to be much closer than most American families. Anyways, there are obviously outliers everywhere. But this is my general observation.

I live in the Netherlands, the maternity leave here is extremely short. My maternity leave and my husband's paternity leave plus our annual leave we barely managed to leave our daughter at home for eight months. Most parents here leave their children in kindergarten at the age of two months. The government is doing everything in their power to get you back to work as soon as possible. Surviving on just one salary in the Netherlands is not an easy task. We and the children suffer from the long separation, but this is the price paid by the average family here.

My acne is environmental, when I'm in a dry area like Arizona where I'm from I have acne. There is only one place in the world where I have perfect skin, literally my clogged pores disappear and I have completely clear skin, is in South Carolina. I can eat WHATEVER I want there, do whatever I want and my skin is perfect there. Why is this?! I don't want to live in South Carolina, but it is the only place that cures my acne.

I was thrown off in the first 40 seconds when she says that ADHD is increased by leaving your child under the age of 3. Then her saying ADHD is not a disorder… I was like wait this goes against everything that the medical field says. Then the guy agreed. I had to look at how the hell he was a Dr and saying that. Ohh he’s a Dr of chiropractic. That explains why. If anyone here is looking for information regarding ADHD please look up Dr Russell Barkley on RU-vid. ADDitude lectures.

That Joe Biden quit is interesting. Especially considering he had been a huge advocate for mother's to get their children into public funded daycare so that mother's can get to work. I wonder what changed over the years. He was saying this at the beginning of his administration. Which really rubbed me the wrong way.

I had been going to the Y for sauna sessions and when covid hit they shut them all down. I needed my sauna fix so I bought one for home and I use it almost every day. It is so convenient and I also added red light that I use while in the sauna. I am 70 and it is they best therapy for my aches and pains.

The more i rhought about this video, the more i realized its deceptive. Yes, young babies need to bond with their mother and have trust. Thats important to all mammals. Back in my grandparents day, you were supposed to wait 5 minutes before running to a crying baby in order to discourage dependence later on. While i disagree with this for a baby, it holds water for a toddler. Once they start getting to an age where they can make decisions, no matter how small, the kids need to learn independence and conflict resolution among peers. They also need to learn consequences and how to learn from mistakes. They cant do this to become well adjusted adults if their parents are doing it for them every second of the day. The study this guy qouted was that daycare kids lack Conflict Resolution With Adults. Translation: daycare kids lack discipline. Kids dont have conflict resolution with adults. Kids dont get to negotiate conflicts with adults. Thats not a thing. Daycare doesn't provide discipline because this is left to the parent, not the provider. This is just American society that doesnt allow disciplining of other people's children. What daycare does do is provide conflict resolution between peers. This is important for any child to learn early, and encourages self sufficience. Kids shouldnt be running to their parents to make decisions and solve all their problems. They need to be empowered to make decisions on their own because when they are older, mommy and daddy wont be there to hold their hands and tell them right from wrong. A kid needs to trust themselves every bit as much as they trust their parents and not constantly look for guidance from others. That being said, there is a line between self sufficience and neglect and sadly, these professionals arent drawing that line. They are more focused on towing the line for what they are selling and not providing the pros and cons and balance.
