Does the gas engine power the vibrating mechanism or does the engine power a generator that powers the vibrating mechanism? And does the gas powered vibrate the screen more aggressively than the electric?
It is a vibrating mechanism. It is quite aggressive. That being said, our machines with the vibratory packs are more popular as they have less moving parts, less maintenance, and 1/2 the money
How large is the company that manufactures this? is it a mom and pop shop or a large corporation. I prefer to purchase from larger corporation because i like to have warranty and parts manual and be able to get parts in case it breaks. When you deal with a mom and pop shop they can get cranky and not feel like helping you out becaseu they might have personal problems in their life.
I am interested in purchasing this machine. But Im not going to spend that kind of money without renting one first. Is there any one near pittsburgh PA that will rent me one for a week?
I have had my screener from them for less than one year and it kept shaking itself apart and breaking bolts off of the electric motor and the company refused to send New parts for free!
Just got mine a few weeks ago. Its an awesome machine. My dirt pile has large rocks that caused me some concern but the 78VF screen is very heavy duty and the large rocks slide right off. Even wet dirt like mine will screen nicely as long as the machine is set up properly.
We have a new model design out with a tip open feed deflector and a new suspension design that offers double the deck travel. A new 2018 model is still only $5750usd
Yes it will separate the grass and weeds from your soil. SLG screeners have the ability to bring the deck slope up to 45 degrees for screening soils with grass, sod, and weeds. You will get more cross transfer when the deck is steep but the upside benifit is that an SLG screener is still working when others are waiting for better weather. Remember that the screen deck also can tilt back to 30 degrees when screen sand , rock and dry soils.
brad i am in montana u,s,a is there a dealer close to me and can you use the unit with in tandem with Conveyor , like to rent or lease before buying as we do with any tipe of unit to make sure it is in full what we need and the company we deal with is to who we like to work with
we use old farm grain Conveyors to move dirt and gravel they are cheep parts easy to come by and ready to buy and easy to move behind any pick up truck
I think the closest dealer to your would be in Spokane WA. Peter with SRS would be your contact person. His number is 509-994-5687. Unfortunately we do not rental units. There is also a dealer in Salt Lake UT. I think that they have rental units available.
You cant compare the Ultra plants to the Desite units, Ultra are a fortune $$$$. The Desite are great from what i see and affordable for the guy with his own tractor to the small business.
Horsepower is not a limiting factor but the machine does weigh about 2000lbs. Usually 60 to 70hp machines have this amount of lift. The bucket lift extensions are the fastest way to move the machine around for most machines, but I would suggest using pallet forks instead of the bucket lift extensions for smaller machines.
How do you move the DeSite? I talked to the guy that sells these about getting one for a small screen business like yourselves, but he told me I'd need a machine with no less than 70 horses.
+Tyler Pittmon Hi there Tyler The machine does weigh about 2000lbs and the general rule is about 60hp machine to lift the screener around. We have had some guys that have put some sleigh type skids under the screener so that the can drag the machine to where they need it.
