Hey everyone hope you enjoy my channel! The videos you will see are anything acappella; from full barbershop songs, tags, and other acappella covers and arrangements with occasional special guests from RU-vid.
Everything you see here is produced and done by myself. While most of my videos here focus on barbershop I will have some videos involving instruments as I do play the cello as well
RU-vid has been a great learning point for my productions and it has only helped me increase the quality. While I wanted to become more like other multitrackers on RU-vid at the beginning (Simon, Trudbol, Beck, etc.) I feel have developed my own style and I really hope you enjoy it and if you like it you'll share it with your friends!
Incredible! A simple video recording was used to capture a live performance that, in my opinion, couldn't be more vocally perfect. I've been watching this video for years and am always amazed at how well these 4 voices fit together in this piece.Thank you so much for presenting the video
Nice melodies. IN many places, the lead vocals seem a bit rushed compared to the backing vocals. maybe drag them back a couple milliseconds? otherwise its a pleasure to listen to!
As creative as this my be, I wonder if he knows that this song was sung by slaves crying out to go back home. This song is deeper than someone singing in 4 different tunes.
Nice job Rhett!! Nailed their arr. I am the Tenor singer with Justified Qt. You get a minute, check out our latest project, How Great the Debt.. It’s on all the streaming platforms…. Blessings….
Sorry to say bud, but the highest register sounded tinny and awful. Very little strength of voice for all four parts. This has become the virus of these videos. You are obviously a baritone. Only. 90% of those who do this are 1 part voices. But in choir class they wanted to sing it all. Unfortunately it sounds god awful. Stick to your one range. Uugh.
Oh god... I sang this song in high school and my teacher recommended this video to help us understand what the four part harmony was supposes to sound like. I saved it to my watch later, and YEARS later, I found it again. Both the message behind the song, the message the singer wanted to convey, and the nostalgia... I DIDN'T NEED TO CRY TODAY, I PROMISE.
I've tried to find the exact arrangement of this tune arr. by Jay...did you embellish or is the version that is listed on so many websites? They only show one page and a small sampling of the vocal recording. I direct a Women's Barbershop Chorus! Sherry
your the best Rhett. I hope to see and meet you again soon. met you in hollidaysburg, pa a feww years ago. Love to open for you someday in concert.. steve a caldwell Gospel sounds duet
Too much to say, but I'll try. 1) You have a sweet tenor. Very nice. 2) I like the little tweaks to the interpretation you made. Now for the long one. GBs performed at a show in Florence SC when I was in a quartet on the same show in high school. I bought every record they had with them to sell, including one with this arrangement (Jim Sikorski had been the tenor on that album). Anyway, with a very basic knowledge of theory and music notation, I spent hours and hours transcribing that arrangement. It was an education. I never had a chance to sing it with anyone, but I was pretty proud of that at the time. I think I'll listen again, now. Thanks!
