I just ordered one last night. Unfortunately, as I see is going on with that sheath according to your and other guys videos, I will have to take a diamond file and work my way out to fix that problem. I don't want to lose my hair shaving sharp blade every time I will pull out the knife from that crap sheath. Or hopefully I'll be able to get a custom one from Ebay.
I just bought one for 168$ on sale from SKMW.I was going to get Spyderco Police in K390 at first but then when I've noticed that this beautiful 4 inch fixed blade cost cheaper than a Spuderco police I decided to stick with the fixed blade.Due to the lock strength if Igo with the folding knives it will always be a Cold steel.I have plenty in CTSXHP so you're having best of the 2 worlds.Edge retention and durability of a Triad lock.
This Cold steel AD10 is a crap! Just bought limited 400$ ti version a it's even worse. Broken tread in titanium backspacer. Those treads are fucking short. This could be great great knife but is only for collecting coz the design is shity like hell
Yes it does just one potential problem it might happen or maybe not. I have tryed carry it dangle carry inside waist band and the knife fell out slide down my leg i was fine. luckly i was at home just carry it trying it out like that. So are I put two bolts and nuts through the sheath seems better but i still don't trust it like my esse 4 retention is i think way better. I have the srk compact like it lighter awesome knife. Still a really awesome knife price point and i have started trying to carry fix blades consealed better than on the beltbin public places and other places pull it out when you need it and put it back inside the waist band.
Awesome video Johnny! Enjoyed every minute of it, thanks for sharing! FYI, I really enjoy the talking vids! You're very articulate and have a great sense of humor! Keep up the good work!
You just made it better! This was epic Johnny Juke - sawmonica, coffee, flask, and some really great mouth organ action! I loved this video! Just awesome! "How dare you" think of changing back!!! 😊 Epic. Two toes up. Loved the ending...
Knife collector here ...900 and counting. I'll use a plastic knife lol...people are bothered by this with me...hmm...ok..lol😊😊..I'll be checking out your knife. 😊
Simple answer, 20 degree's per edge. I've been collecting knives since the late 70's. And for an EDC knife, 20 degree's is just fine. Plus if you get something like the Ken Onion Guided Field sharpener. It is set for 20 degree's. Most sharpening systems have 20 degree's as a preset.
Yep, the Trail Hawk, is a good tool. Glad to see you removed that stupid set screw. Its useless. I've had my Trail Hawk for 5 or 6 years, and its handy to have.
I am interested in everything that this product embodies. It’s important to initially understand the extraordinary capabilities this knife possesses because tactical knives offer a bit more than a regular knife. They are supposed to save lives and therefore must have greater durability than what the manufacturer claims. I’m not sure if the price of €273 on the manufacturer’s website is justified. I understand that marketing drives this world, and I really don’t want to make a mistake by buying a beautiful Italian knife, and they are simply stunning with Requiem, but it might turn out to be just marketing.
Always appreciate the knowledge sharing vids. Best of luck on your hunting, hope you get to use that fine edge. My season starts on the 10th, and I'm all Bucked up. Enjoy.
I've sharpened my Buck 112 at 25 per side for 30+ years I have no idea what it was when new Most of my 'Work Knives" get the same angle Smaller blades like SAKs I usually do at 20 per side I mainly use an old Lansky set
I just got my 110 buck knife. What angle sharpness does the knew buck have from the factory, cause it’s crazy sharp. Also, for future sharpening, what angle should I sharpen my 110 from cutting boxes, stripping electrical wires to camping and basic all purpose duty work. Thanks in advance for your response.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know, I really enjoyed this video. Every aspect. I enjoyed the somewhat sarcastic approach to how some define "survival". The coffee, the stove, the gear used, the beautiful piece of woods you chose to shoot it in. All of it. The song was, please don't take this wrong, a pleasant surprise! You always hear people claim to be musicians and when you finally hear their music, well, let's just say it's pretty rough. Not so with you. I would have bought your record and cranked it proudly! You're very talented. I don't remember when I first found your channel, but it's been awhile now, so, thank you so much, for all the years of clean, high quality, educational content! Carry on sir! (Oh yeah, you dig Killer Dwarfs? Your song kinda reminds me of them!)
Hey JJ ( may I call you JJ?) this is a totally off topic question, but just wondering as a long time knife user and aficionado, if you could put your two cents in on the subject of "behind the edge thickness" and "toughness" related to Rockwell Hardness. It seems a lof of knife channels that I used to enjoy watching, now seem to have a hard on for these subjects. I can recall when S30V was the latest and greatest, but I can also remember that my Benchmade that had that "Super Steel" was the biggest pain in the ass to get back to a useable edge. I am probably stuck in the "early 2000's" because my daily user is MT blade made from 420HC, daily fixed blade is 1095, and both are excellent at what I need them for, but I just cant understand the hate Thank you for your time, and BTW talking in the woods is excellent! (Plus, we know you are not dead).
@@JohnnyJuke :Hmm, thank you for pointing that out about me partly answering my own question. I watched this video after watcing said channels that I referred to. The content creator was just railing on knives made from 1095, and that "no company" should be making knives that aren't HRC of 60 or greater, not 13 thousandths BTE or less. I am scratching my head at this elitism mindset? Sorry, thank you for allowing me to vent.
