Thanks for this video, it's really helpful. I do have a question though. I'm using a pivot table to calculate the number of days and hours I'm working on a clients projects, is there a way to get the grand total to know that 8hrs should be 1 day? Thanks
I am getting this error when making a custom field in pivot table. The name exists in the table I am referencing. Everything is spelled correctly. I have no clue what is going on. Other names of the columns in the table work.
Google Sheets now has native multi-select dropdowns. support.google.com/docs/thread/287944726/google-sheets-allow-dropdown-chips-to-have-multiple-selections?hl=en
Excellent video! Query is one of my favourite functions in google sheets. I use it wherever I can. To use it effectively you have to invest a little bit of time into learning the SQL commands used in the query function, but once you know them, you can do amazing things with query! One thing to note: the query function is not very fast and when you are using a lot of query's it will slow down your sheet.
Hello, wondering if you can help me. I have created a sheet where I have grouped by a status for projects. Is there a way to then add a sub-total? I can't seem to figure it out! I need the sheet to be able to resort as the status of the project changes over time.
Is there a way to do this but with alternanting cells along the same row? I am using a google sheets for a game. As a tie breaker users can input a number in their column and closest number wins. I would like to prevent users from using the same number without having to visually look through the row to see if there is a duplicate.
Hi, would you know how to count the sum of True or False (on checkboxes) within a specified date? Like for instance: On Column A I have the date a person registered Column B is the day their registration ended Column C is the indication or checkbox, "True" or "Checked" if they have successfully registered and "False" or "Unchecked" if they didn't proceed. Now, I need the summary of how many people successfully registered for each month. Hoping you would notice, i've been watching your tutorials for quite some time and it really helped a lot.
@@ProlificOaktree good morning! Thank you for responding. Im wondering if you have any tutorial for counting this checkboxes within a month or within specific dates like my example above? Im pretty much familiar with xlookup up to array but im still self studying mostly with the help of your vids 🥹🫶
@@Sayuri199x Try pivot table feature where you can group by date: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K0pf2s4o3Hg.html . Make the values counts of TRUE/FALSE.

Is it possible to get this google sheet? I may have missed where it's posted. High school teacher teaching Data Analytics and looking for new stuff - I'd love to add this video!
Thanks so much. I went from Excels to google sheets and some of the differences are making me nutty. This helped with such a simple task. Thanks for the tutorial.
It has flaws : it won't work when you do the 'paste' into the cells (not typing direclty into the cells) or when changing the value of a check box etc. Make sure you 'type' the value directly into the cells to make this method works - do not doing copy/paste.
It would be more helpful if you describe exactly what you did, the result you desired, and the exact output you received instead of the desired result.
@@ProlificOaktree just updated that I got it working, but didn't notice the comma insertion part of the formula, before selecting your range. Thanks for the video though- aside from that one small thing, very helpful.
