A simple two-step emerald cut design. Choose the angles that suit you according to the material. Rose cut has no pavilion and no table, and it can have three facets and more as you like in all kinds of designs.👍
In my other video there are a lot of dopstick 8mm brass . I use a brass dopstick and red wax to secure the stone for the pavilion and crown and girdle . I use a transfer jig, I have several of them, but I mostly transfer by eye. Thanks for following my channel and leaving a comment. Best regards
@@valentinstan5359 I use dopstick and red wax to cut the colored stone. The base on which I place the diamond tang can be adjusted on several levels, so I can work with the same handpiece as a girdle and a table.

It has a little rust on it, when I clean it I hope for a better measurement. Chuck is standard for Chinese quality. There's a lot of work to be done there before it starts working.
I was thinking of making a video, unfortunately it's quite difficult for me with my mobile phone, but I probably will one day.Thank you very much for following my work. All the best and Happy New Year.
Neighbor, thanks for watching my channel. I don't have a plan for a complete machine because I built it from leftover materials in the workshop. There are 4 videos on building a faceting base. I can only say the basic information; the motor is 370W 1450RPM, the disc is 6 inches and rotates at approx. 550 RPM. On the iron structure that I welded, I added a 13mm thick aluminum plate. The hub with ball bearings was modified from a motorcycle....
Thanks for following my channel. I made several experimental models and they helped me a lot in learning how to facet a stone. Now I'm working with a diamond tang handpiece, but for the next project I'm collecting material for a simple handpiece...
@@Sodabowski exactly. But Daniel knows for sure because he cuts gems himself. The material is corundum, a type of ruby. Emerald cut , diagram for higher RI , based on the book by Justin K Prim😁❤💎🖖
I use red wax. It is a wax that is also used for sealing doors or boxes. It is hard, brittle and has a higher temperature than other waxes. You can find it on ebay to buy under the name "dop wax". It comes in different colors that indicate the melting temperature, and they are all based on shellac. Thank you very much for following my channel. Best regards Predrag
We are Disabled Seniors along with our 47yr old SON/A Tetraplegic. We recently became RockHounds and Lapidary. I came across your RU-vid Channel/Video on DIY Faceting Machine=ME LIKES!!! I am / been searching for a decent Faceting Machine. If I was to make a Faceting Machine what type of WOOD would be best for The Facetor/Dial? BTW I Subscribed to your Channel and SLAPPED THE LIKE THUMB-hehehehe. MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
Hello friends. I myself, also a disabled person, use crutches and for longer distances over 100m I use a wheelchair , also survived malignant cancer and two heart attacks .... Faceting machines are quite expensive, so I made my own base and experimented with beginner handpieces, which actually turned out to be great for working with simpler designs. My basic idea was to enter the faceting world cheaply. There are many more YT channels where you can learn how to polish a cabochon or faceting. A fantastic hobby for someone who is well served by eyesight and hands and age or other disabilities are not a limitation. For me, this hobby is the best medicine and entertainment. I would like to record better videos, but for now with a mobile phone, that's all. Thanks Best Regards .
I am delighted you're opening up the door of this artform for others. So many people feel shut out from this artform just due to the initial cost of equipment, alone. This is really ingenuitive and has an intuitive design, with good results!
Unfortunately, this is a wonderful hobby, but the equipment is too expensive for amateurs. That's why many started the path of self-building machines. If I have helped anyone with my work, I am very happy. Thank you for your kind words.
@@Liburni great letme know if you found the solution to add a cheater to the hand piece , my imahashi hand pieces are type c with no cheater but i found a solution and you can cheat doing a different approach
@@showmewhatyoucanmakenotwha8427 now I mainly use "Rico tools" diamond tang and they have several different settings of the cheater which is continuous and goes 360°. On my experimental handpieces, I used cardboard padding under the cheating leg and thus got the position for the facet....
@@Liburni this is what i did you can do it too . i added a goniometer stage between the raising plate and the shaft . the goniometer will be the same as a cheater but on the plate not on the hand piece . if you have whatsapp i can send you picts of the goniometer stage . it by adding a goniometer it will letyou tilt a couple of degrees to the right and a cuople to the left with precition and go back to same positio , you can google ehat a. optical goniometer stage is .
I think you can see how does it look like , and It says in the comment;"Restored old electric motor ElektroKovina 220V 0.37kW 1330 RPM" , of course AC motors (alternating current) ...But you can put it as you wish or whatever you already have in the workshop. In terms of power, 250W to 750W is all good. RPM is 1350 to 1500 quite enough, and you reduce the number of revolutions of the disc with the pulley. If you also add electronic speed adjustment, it will be fantastic. The most important thing is to find a motor without vibrations. Thanks for following my work and comment. Best regards .
I did not understand your question, please clarify. All materials for construction can be seen in the video, aluminum tube, outer profile 10mm, inner 6mm, dopstick 6mm, aluminum piece 14mm thick. The plate sheet is aluminum 3mm thick, it can also be plywood...Of course, everyone can use their material of different dimensions and still achieve the same effect. I had this material left over in the workshop and I used it for an experiment...Thanks for following my work
