To all those wondering about this program, I was enrolled in the school from 6th- graduating. I had an actual graduation with the school, went on to be top 3,000 with honors out of college at a global online college (UMUG). I am starting my own kids on this program for this year because the bite size PACEs were awesome as a kid and once I got the hang of it could have my work done pretty quickly and have more free time. It will be interesting being on the parent side of it 😂
Hi , I loved ACE for the ease of use and open and go concept. After a few years using it , I felt like my children needed something deeper, also the rote memorization for every subject became more of a mundane chore to be completed, instead of creating a love of learning and critical thinking , which is my overall goal in their education. However, I know people have used ACE successfully with no issues and their children thrived. So what works for one may not work for all. I Hope this helps !
You would need to try the curriculum by ordering from ACE School or tomorrow, or Christian Book. I am not a sponsor . What works for one family may not work well for another , but maybe this is a good fit for you !
You prayer at the end made my day! I am only 2 years in and have no idea what to do next year for math so Ive been researching and Im exhausted. Your prayer was so encouraging. Thank you!
I went through the Ace program for our church school. And so did my husband until Sr. year. We are looking at it as we home school Our daughter , but I just have to say.... You can one hundred and fifty percent cheat on the tests. We did every single time, all of us in the class did... same for the reading comprehension testing...soooo easy to cheat. When we have school reunions, this is a topic all of us adults that went through this program. Talk about, the Rampant cheating and easy access to be able to cheat when you don't understand something. There is a lot about this curriculum. I like... but don't allow your children to score themselves. That was we made cheap sheets and brought it to the testing based off of what we memorize from the score keys. When we closed our school, my best friend. Their family decided to home school and stay with this curriculum.... I taught her all the tricks. And she also cheated on her tests at home until a couple years in the mom found out and they dropped the whole curriculum.
Hi, thank you for sharing! I am looking to switch to ACE and especially now after watching your video, but I just wanted to ask did you have your child do a diagnostic test to determine which level to purchase. I get a little confused on the website because I can see there’s multiple tests to do for each subject? Sorry if it’s a silly question just still trying to wrap my head around it 😊
I didn’t make the video, but there’s 3 tests, and they are for math, English and word building if I remember right. I would have your child take all 3.
Hi, I did if you’re unsure of where they are, look at the scope and sequence on their website too. I believe you start at 3 levels below their current grade level on the diagnostic . You can call their customer service number and they can give yoi more information about the diagnostic test.
Does the Abeka solutions key have all the answers to the math problems? I tried the BJU math and I hate it. Only been using it a couple of weeks. It's gotta go bye bye!!! It's too unorganized for me, so I need to go right back to Abeka math. I don't do the video, I'm the teacher and I really need all the answers. The math is even hard for me, 😂 I have been using Abeka for 6 years and I really like it for my children. It is very advanced, but I do love the way everything is explained and how the book is laid out.
Hi ! So sorry for the delay it does come with a solution key. I am with you , we did this Abeka math for a little while but it was too advanced for where my daughter was and she needed more time to master it.. and BJU both is similar to me in-the spiral approach .. we have switched for this child to Math U See… it is mastery approach, and comes with online video instruction as well. It is working well for her . My younger two do CTC math online now which is a mastery approach. Both are worth checking out as well ! Good luck !
Hi i have used and tried a little bit of everything. Right now I’m not using either. While Abeka is a great curriculum, the traditional structure of it didn’t flow with our family’s needs. Ace Paces are easy to implement, but my kids get burnt out with them. It is very rote memory based learning. We need something open and go , with shorter lessons , as I have different ages and and in different levels. For my elementary kiddos : I am using Language Arts through The Good and The Beautiful , Math - U- See , and I pick living books for science/ History. My high schooler uses powerhomeschool for English, Apologia for science , and Math- u-See, Generations - for History/ Bible. I plan to do a video covering my curriculum choice soon.
Thank you for this video and the prayer, I was overwhelmed after three weeks of homeschooling I didn’t know how the scorning works and I found your video. God bless you and your family!!!
The newer version looks so much better. We used the older version and it flopped for our family. Thanks for sharing. Just subscribed. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and it would be fun to be friends and connect here 😊
Thankyou so much! This is my first year homeschooling my 12 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter. I bought the Ace Paces curriculum for my son who is going into 7th grade. I'm trusting that God will guide us through the school year even though i feel like I'm going into this blind ,not knowing how it will work out, i trust that God is there and will help every step of the way and provide for our every need.
Hi 👋 I will say a prayer 🙏 ACE paces make it so doable . You are doing the best thing for you children and God will give you what you need on the hard days ! ❤️❤️ It will all be worth it . God Bless ❤️
Hookstone- please avoid this home school curriculum, i am an allumni of this ace program and i am super angry that my job didnt consider this as an accredited educational program. Plus when i made it to university, i learned nothing. I am suing them because they are not an accredited school curriculum.
Thanks for this video. Which did you choose the accredited one or the independent homeschooling? I have no idea which to chose. Ill give them a call tomorrow LORD WILLING but was curious which was the option you chose.
@@homeschoolfaithfamily5275 thank you for your response! Ive been praying about this and my heart had independent homeschooling! Is it overwhelming at the beginning? Because from what iv been told the parent is responsible for all the paperwork and reports etc. You keep all that information in a file cabinet of some sort id imagine. Also, you have to request for the test yearly in order to continue getting the curriculum correct? Was there someone specific you could talk to to help you along at the beginning? I just want to make sure i do this right. I dont want to mess anything up. Thank you in advance for any advice/help you can give💝💝💝
i did the accredited with my daughter years ago now im homeschooling her son and im doing the unaccredited with him way less pressure and i can judge for myself if some stuff needs skipped over due to how fast he learns is some areas. great program
Hi 👋 ACE does a lot of repetition so I did not use any extra things . The only thing was that the math would require me to sometimes find extra explanations and I could usually find it by searching the internet. That was for the older grade math though. You could add more to the program if you wanted to though .
It is available in every state and delivers internationally as well. Go to their website or Christian book , and you can order and do a placement test through the schools website for free . It is called ACE a school Of Tomorrow . Thanks 😊
I love A.C.E. Been using it about 8 years now. Got one grandchild through it, he is in college ( pre med). Started 2 years ago with another grandchild. This is such a good curriculum. I will continue to use it with other grandchildren coming up. Thank you for your review.
How do you score each page? speicifically how many points for every correct answer? I cant seem to find this info on the ACE website.. just started homeschooling my 7 year old with ACE
every pace has a coordinating score key that you order to go with it. It is set up for the child to do the work. then the child will score when the pace tells them to score the pages.. then you as the parent\teacher will go over it and make sure they scored correctly. we have used this curriculum for 6 years
i would also add to this .. on the checkups you just check to see if the answers are correct. you do not get a numerical grade for check ups.. However on self test, above the sections of the test it will say something like( each question work 2 points or 3 points. . and you grade accordingly.
@@homeschoolfaithfamily5275 I'm asking is the international certificate of Christian Education better than government certificate of secondary education?
It is a lot of book work. You don't have to do it all and can choose to leave out the extra worksheets. It ended up not working for us, but it is very similar to Abeka. I think the main difference is that BJU has more critical thinking concepts in it than ABEKA.
Hello, ace paces doesn’t break it down into lessons. Rather pages you complete per day. 12 paces for the school year. Each pace to be “on track” would be completed in 3 weeks. So if I pace has 37 pages and your doing a 5 day week school schedule you would complete 3 pages per day. That’s 14 school days of pages and the 15th day (3rd school week ) Friday you would take the test . Hope this makes sense. We have used Ace paces for a couple of years now and love it. It’s a mastery approach.
Hi, In Ace Math there are concepts learned not a number of lessons, but certain goals must be reached. There are 12 booklets per year , one pace is usually completed around 3 weeks. It may be done quicker or slower, depedending on the child. You can find a complete scope of what each pace has in it on the ACE SCHOOL OF TOMORROW WEBSITE. Hope this helps..
lessons depends on each child whats comes easier you move slower and in some areas they will go through faster some what my grandson excelled in some pages we were able to skip
Hi, thanks for this video! Is the student's book like the previous ones where they write in it directly or do you use a separate notebook? And how is it going? Any noteworthy pros and cons?
Yes they write in the pace books. It is going pretty good. I use other things as well, with the Paces as a main part of our curriculum. The pro's is : It is open and go , easy to implement, the kids can get their work done fairly easily. Cons: It gets a little boring. We have been doing Living books for science and history instead of paces.
Hi- to be honest this video made me a bit concerned. In public school (UK, ages 7 and 8) my kids were expected to have mastered multiplication tables up to 12, work confidently with negative numbers (including multiplication), do long division and calculate simple areas. I think I’ll consider a different maths homeschool curriculum- do you have any suggestions?
ace paces start slower than most other curriculums these days. as the child progresses through the program, it speeds up. however went i went to school, we were not doing long division at age 7 either LOL and i went to public school myself. you could try abeka or just have your kids take the ace paces test (free) and order the level that they are. you don't have to go by "grade.
I’ve used very rigorous curriculum ( ahead of public schools here) and my children were never doing all that in 3rd grade. Multiplication and division only. I feel like even if a child’s curriculum includes that it might not be developmentally appropriate honestly.
I’m in the process of placing my son’s 3rd curriculum order and I am wanting to purchase the ACE curriculum. Would you say the math was good at teaching the concepts well mainly for multiplication and division?
Hi, the math is very repetitive and it does focus on mastery before moving forward. You will need to do flashcards to help him with speed probably. Check out Teaching textbooks math as well ! It starts in 3rd grade, and goes to 12th. We personally did not like ACE math, because I felt it lacked enough teaching instruction in the pace. I was always searching for solutions and more examples to explain. Every Childs needs are different though! Best of Luck !
I'm not sure why you weren't able to get through all the subjects? We did 2nd, 5th, and 10th grade last year with BJU DLO and didn't have trouble getting through all the subjects every day. Now the first couple of weeks, it took some getting used to. Lol but after that it flows sooo easily and my kids loved it. We will be using it again this year! Hope you find something that works for your family ❤️
@The Yakovlev family I got the consultant discount but it's still pricey. So pricey in fact that we've moved away from BJU for the 23-24 school year. We loved it and enjoyed it but it's just too expensive.
