Videos helping the imaging community improve their skills with cameras and workflows.

My name is Damian and I am a photographer and videographer based in Australia. I have been fortunate to travel and work on all 7 continents with camera in hand. This channel will host videos looking at my approach for shooting, editing, workflow and output when working with a single image or large number of files or footage captured with cameras.

It is lacking a comparison of the two images. Think of it next time for your videos, viewers are not expecting an how to video but also your own opinion.

It is a very long time we use DNG. It would have been more interesting if you addressed also the lossy dng format and made some assessment of its quality. Thank you anyway, it is a good way to remember people about DNG advantages.

Thanks for your comment. This video is a demonstration of the process and how to access it in Lightroom. Results will be different for each image, shoot settings, camera and lens combination, so best option is to test with your own images and compare results on the best way to increase resolution of your images, of which there are a few options.

Is there any way to manually align the images if Lightroom is unable to do it?
@betterpics1770

Not within Lightroom unfortunately. That is when you would need to step into photoshop to bring in one or multiple source images and use a method of warping and moving them to align correctly with the adjacent image/s.

@betterpics1770
@betterpics1770 3 месяца назад
Yes there is!!… exactly the same as bulk selecting multiple images in ACR for any normal adjustment….select the images you wish to denoise and go through the same process. It will process all the images you have selected and create the new files as per the process demonstrated in the video… I am using Camera Raw version 16.2.1.1767….keep in mind, it will be a long process. If it is a lot of images, probably something I would do overnight or while I am busy doing something else….

One problem i found with your video is that the control you seem to have is very subtle and even, my control is jerky , clunky and not very concise, leading me to still want to go back into Photoshop and use the crop tool which I'm finding one hell of a lot easier to use due to it being so much more responsive. I think that if you are finding the crop tool in Photoshop is working for you, then that may be the best way to go, especially as it is so easy to open any images you are working on straight into photoshop.....I am a big believer there is no ONE best way to do things with image editing....If you find a workflow/process that works best for you then go for it...hope that helps....:)

i don't think an option to toggle the effect of the active mask off and on exists. I have asked around on YT among serious photographers. Nobody knows about a short-key for this purpose. As you mention none of the other before-after keys are useful for this specific purpose. I have posted a question about this in the Adobe Family forum, and nobody has come up with the right answer. The feature apparently disappeared with the latest upgrade. A work-around is to right-click the button of the active mask and select "Reset Local Correction Settings", which will reset all sliders to "before" - and then return to "after" with Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z. But it's a laborious way (and a pain in a lower body part). Please let me know, if you get anything from Adobe. PS: The brain dead muzak in the background is disturbing in my opinion and distracts me from the intelligent content of an otherwise informational video.

Hi from Cyprus . Am a wedding photographer and i use camera raw from 2007. Work good the new update but the biggest problems is when you open a lot photos you cant make custom size like before and you cant move to the next photo with arrows keys so i need x10 times to finish my projects. @betterpics1770
@betterpics1770 4 года назад
Hi Constantinos...Cheers for your question.....the arrows are still working for me to go from image to image....If your thumbnails are at the bottom of the screen (horizontal), you need to use left and right, and if the thumbnails are on the left side of the screen (vertical) you can use up and down, same as previous versions....Keeping in mind if you have made an adjustment, you need to click back on a thumbnail for the arrow options to work....In terms of a custom size for bulk images...you can do a custom ratio for bulk images through the crop tool... and a custom dimension/size when saving the images through the save dialogue box....It is in the 2nd box from the bottom called image sizing...when saving out multiple images at once, this will apply the settings you enter to all images being saved....hope this helps.....
