Still getting to grips. Have realised CMD can't be activated soon after take off got to leave it and then it works. Issue now is that VNAV doesn't engage, the button reacts but no green light, LNAV works thought. Must be me again I think. Made myself a crib sheet which is proving very useful but think I need bigger print(!!)
Hi again. Still having issues with the A/T Arm not holding. Looking at the video again it is armed when the video starts is it possible to give me the actions taken up to arming the A/T so I can work my way through please. Thanks
Hi Chris, sorry about the trouble. Please don't hesitate to contact us here (flightsimcoach.com/contact) and we can discuss options to get you further help.
@@FlightSimCoach Pleased to say I seem to have resolved the A/T issue but have no idea how. I think it may have been something to do with starting from cold/dark. I am now able to practice your fight tutorial. A the moment I have been concentrating on take off and getting level flight at 6000 feet. I am going to venture into the Autoland next but need to go through the tutorial a few times first. Out of interest are you using some sort of Track IR for your cabin views, you see to be able to move about quite smoothly and freely.
@@FlightSimCoach Thanks for the reply. I am trying to familiarise myself with the 737 as my family are treating me to a 2 hour time simulator course, which I am looking forward to. My question was more about the ease with which you move around the cockpit and view the controls etc. I can't get that level of control.
@@chrispurkiss1491 In this video I believe Darrell primarily used his right mouse button to pan around the cockpit, as well as the arrows on the keyboard to translate the view left/right/up/down. You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to quickly jump to pre-saved views. Wishing you a great time in the sim course!
I find my gauges etc. move about all over the place when using the mouse which is frustrating to say the least. Also how to I move the trim wheel does this need to be set in controls? I have the TB Velocity One Yoke etc. and it has a trim wheel control but not working at the moment, probable need to look at controls and perhaps FSUIPC and Spadnext.
You should be able to use this method but before starting the flight, go to the Nav Log and type in your desired altitude. If that doesn't work, then you can also adjust your altitude after starting the flight via the slew mode.
Is there a keyboard shortcut available for the GPS/NAV switch, or for the CDI selector button? I have searched and cannot find that these functions are available as a keyboard shortcut.
The flight went flawlessly and the plane landed itself. I recorded the last few hundred feet through the landing to a full stop. I am going to master this flight and write down notes until I can do the flight without watching the video. Then I will plan my own flights and eventually add a little more complexity and learning exactly what all the numbers mean and such. Thank you.
I will try the flight and have been looking for a straight from A-B tutorial with minimal setup involved as a start. The only thing I am worried about is that for the first few minutes he zoomed in on everything which is great, but then for the whole flight he was zoomed way back and I cannot see any details of what he was doing, but at least I can see where the cursor was pointing so maybe it will work out for me. Thank you.
Oh man I love your checklist on the right hand side as you go!!! All the many others out there that do these tutorials need to pay attention and do the same especially that P Gatcomb guy! He drinks like 20 cups of coffee before he does a video and you can’t follow a word he’s saying!!!
Wind can be obtained from the METAR/ATIS for the destination. Correct, the landing altitude is listed on the airport charts. Here's one place you could obtain that info (there are many others too): www.fltplan.com/airport.cgi?EGGD
Hi @piper042. The same principles as real-life still apply, though you might find it more difficult to avoid weathervaning in the simulator for a few reasons: - Modeling of ground handling characteristics may not be perfect in the sim (consider trying an add-on aircraft that might have improved handling characteristics) - Lack of "seat of the pants" feeling can also make aircraft control more difficult in general (you have less feedback) - Rudder sensitivity may be too high or low (consider making adjustments to control sensitivity) Just do your best to apply the same principles as in real life, but recognize that it might be more difficult given the above reasons.
So, FLC is used when you wish to climb or descend, but keep a constant rate of speed, which is accomplished by utilizing pitch (autopilot) and power (pilot).
In this section in my xbox s series, I dont have any option for 'cockpit interaction system'. Help! this lock crap gets in the way of controlling stuff like throttle.
Hi Bob, I don't have an Xbox version to check but my understanding is that there is no option to change the interaction system on Xbox unfortunately. You can see more info here: forums.flightsimulator.com/t/i-dont-have-the-cockpit-interaction-system-option/503661
@@FlightSimCoach - thank u for replying and the link! I was asking because i sometimes cant control the throttle and i think its because that sh**ty featuer is getting in the way. ever hear of this?
