I only played these last year and they were one of my games of 2023. I've also been on a bit of a retro gaming binge the last couple years and it has been amazing. So many great titles that are in many cases so much more engaging than what is made nowadays. Just as you said, brain detox.
I have always been a fan of older games and styles. My only game in this genre I had played until recently was Bards Tale. I am now playing “The Quest” and this is going to be next on my list. I DO wish more dungeon crawlers where open world RPGs like The Quest is.
I've been a fan of the genre since the '90s. I hesitated for a long time before trying this series. I picked up the bundle on sale just like you mentioned. I had finished the first game with the Master Quest mod and started the second one just about the time you uploaded this video. I have to say the second one is leagues better than the first. I love the first one to death, but towards the second half of the game, It felt like it wasn't progressing enough, The enemies were too repetitive, And it really became torturous at one point without much reward. This sequel fixed the issue, gives the player an open world and choices to explore where they want, If you're skilled enough and you save scum enough, You can even take on an area that was meant for later game with a lower level party, but it takes some luck. But it overall feels really free. The monster variety isn't an issue anymore, there's no more copy paste giant snails and spiders. The puzzles are more innovative. Interlinking the answers and the questions from one side of the map to the other, I find myself really wanting to turn it back on when I get home. It feels like the love child of wizardry 8 and dungeon master. My only complaint in the sequel Is that the party is limited to four members, but there's too many classes I want to explore. I think it would have been better suited to allow for six players in the party at the same time. Another big improvement would have been having merchant shops that would allow you to sell and buy your goods. Oh and I almost forgot, It could have used way more spells. They could have added paralyzed, sleep, something to make the creatures attack each other, And way more offensive spells. Also would have been nice to have a healing spell class character. They could have made unlocking the spells part of the reward for finding secrets
@@iamvigant Unfortunately these days I am a Steam gamer only. Did GOG back in the day but they were always slow with patches. Steam has simply become my one stop gaming site…. be it good or bad.
I love this game despite its flaws. I followed / played it through prolog, beta testing and now EA. I must have around 200 hours in the game, and I have taken it to a base with all the buildings and such (tons of grinding and exploration). Can't wait for it to get updated :)
I wish they had the landing on various planets and moving around or even if restricted to cities or tourist areas. If it had it, there would be a giant amount of interest to explore. The view of planets from space is very good though.
I just found out you had a second channel. Might I recommend linking your channels together with the channels section? This channel links to your first, but your first doesn't link to this one.
I've never gotten real far in the game but what I always found odd about the game is that it just feels off. It feels like objects in space are moving towards you rather than you moving toward objects. Just kinda weird to me.
There’s no vibration or pull from the thrusters so that might be why. Otherwise, it’s space and it might look like that since you’re not in the ship to feel any force.
Saving before taking on each mission is a very good idea in this game. Or trying anything risky - that especially includes dealing with any kind of minefields. Yes, you'll find much worse mine fields, much much much worse. Thats all I'm going to say without any spoilers. Its up to you if you want to continue. This game has a slow pace, so editing might videos might not be a bad idea imo. I personally started a vanilla campaign so seeing some of the other starts could be fun. The Terran's have some of, if not the best ships in the game, but their reputation with most of the other factions isn't the greatest, so you might need to take time in earning their trust before they will allow to trade or buy from them. But if you decide to keep playing, just do what you want and have fun.
When you disconnected the autopilot, you had full manual acceleration, hence you went careering through the minefield. You needed to throttle back. I mean, it's like turning off your cruise control on the car but with your foot flat on the throttle. Nothing good will come of it! And regarding the autopilot taking you into the minefield; it rather that the autopilot takes you to within a set distance from the target. The fact that the target was stationary in a minefield isn't known by the autopilot. So, your first idea was right. Disconnect the AP before you get too close. Just remember to reduce acceleration in plenty of time!
The unskippable dialog is exhausting, espeically if you've already been through it. We get it, the voice actors do good work, but i'm trying to cut ships up before someone wants me to mow the lawn or walk the dog.
I finished campaign, it was... Fine. I still do the weekly R.A.C.E. challenge most weeks, it's a nice semi-random puzzle and I never have to pay any mind to the campaign again.
Love that you’re back playin this again! Agree that the devs have painted a big moustache on the Mona Lisa with the no skip storyline. This is an otherwise flawless game, so much fun.
Oh Scarlet! I am so delighted to watch you play this game again. I found your channel through this game. Also watched all episodes you've put out. Thank you! Cheers!
Yes please make a series of this. After getting the game and playing through the story myself, it would be great to get your take on the whole story. I found the story climax level pretty fun to play.
It is a euro thing. Can put them up with a rock and they are sturdy enough to hold small livestock. Anyway, this is very cool. Seems to build up fairly well..
Heheh, I understand what she's saying so I'm good.🇧🇻 That is special to me, actually. BF5 did that, so this is the second time I've heard my language in a game. It looks pretty and interesting.
Great use of the second channel, keep it up. This game has come up on my steam recommendations so many times and I never bothered looking. I just thought it was another zombie shooter. Thanks for shining a light on it, I’m down for watching more… nice one🤘
