Very cool truck that is a 1ton srw with a rear axle that is extended far back which is 140" wheelbase vs the standard 133" wheelbase I'm wondering does the F350 srw offered in a regular 133" wheelbase in 2 wheel drive form
Super clean truck, very nice! I bought a barn find about 6 years ago…79 F350 4x4 Ranger XLT …(sort of rare) Engine was out of it due to being blown up…sitting in the bed ..truck was parked in a pole barn since 1991. I’ve since put a 460 in it and slowly have made it drivable. Every single part of the brake system needed replacing along with just about every seal! I hope to get my truck in the shape of yours someday!
I'd probably take that over a brand new 100k truck. If it were 4x4 I'd for sure pick that over a brand new truck. There is just something about a 78-79 ford truck/bronco the feel of the steering wheel, the dash layout, putting the key in the dash to crank it up, the sound of the doors shutting, the view over that big ass hood going down the highway......a new truck has none of what this one has.
super camper special, not sure where the trailer special emblem on the tailgate would have come from. Rare truck, I own a 78 super camper special. Very beautiful truck you've have.
To my understanding Ford dropped the term super camper special in 78-79 as it was the first time they introduced the f350 super cab and wanted to avoid confusion with the similarity in names. Essentially this truck is still a super camper special, just under a new term.
Nope it's a trailer special, thus the large mirrors. I have a similar truck (brown and tan colored) that has the 140" wheelbase. I bought the Marti report for it, it was ordered as a trailer special. My truck also has a hydraulic trailer brake system under the dash.
