Prayers for Appalachia! Helene has brought death and destruction. The Appalachian people will survive. They have for generations. God bless those hills! ❤
My curiosity on the male covers led me here. Awesome job man, been a lifelong favorite song of mine, and I wanted a reference for when I go to sing it. My tone is hair lower pitch but I LOVE your touch you put on this icon of a song. I look forward to listening to more of your music.
Going down dark cold road why’s my heart feel so cold Why can’t I see you still Coyotes howling at the moon I felt your love too soon I just want you to feel The sun don’t shine in the darkness Oh I feel so broken hearted Miss you in the morning I guess I should have seen the morning Drink away all my pain just to feel a little sane Just so I don’t shed a tear Sitting out by the fire now I’d see your hearts desire It’s all washing from here The sun don’t shine in the darkness Oh I feel so broken hearted Miss you in the morning I guess I should have seen the morning This is the cry of the wolves I did the best I could Just to try to show That I’m different from the rest even though I wasn’t the best I just want you to know The sun don’t shine in the darkness Oh I feel so broken hearted Miss you in the morning I guess I should have seen the morning
I was 18 when I had my son, I'm 25 now and I got diagnosed with heart disease. I play this song every day, someday when my son understands I'll get to play this for him.
I listen to this song at least 50 times in a week now. Who composed this beautiful song and lyrics and who are the men singing? Superb! It brought me a lot of joy playing it on my guitar. Thanks !
Curse upon the labels holding Rival Sons back from the exposure that is owed. They should be the headliner, not the warmup band. Being 66 years of age, came up in the hottest forge of rock, hard rock, heavy metal, etc. etc.. , I feel qualified in these matters. They all deserve original praise. However, can’t help but think of Steve Marriott on vocals !!
The old Appalaichan holler calls to me. Though I drift around the country roaming far from my native home, There's a voice in my heart that says Appalachia is your home. I can smell the cherry wood burning as the tendrils of the smoke speak to me of home. A home of rabbit stew and corn bread, a belly full of goodness to see me through the night. In partial slumber on a balmy summer night, the lonesome drone of the fiddle on the porch comforts my weary bones. And families, each to their own home, no fancy living here my friend, but a love that abounds. There's the call of the grosbeak, a plaintive warbler call, but there it is again and it calls me home once more. And then the gathering of the folk, a pinnacle of holler life, strange some might say, but I say "show me better". For they might be plain in appearance and coarse in their address, but every word spoken is spoken from the heart, and every word spoken calls me home again to our humble holler. Oh I have wandered far and wide, and I've seen some pretty sights, but where would I lay my head if I could? That's right, back home in the holler.
