I would love to buy a plan for that trailer the small one it looks perfect for over landing please let me know if that would be possible, love your videos I am pretty handy with tig , mig, or spool gun all the best miss your Idaho adventures we live in and around the Clearwater and st Joe
@magwamagwa45110 Shoot me an email to ceg043@hotmail.com and let me know which one you're talking about. We've done more trips out that way, I just haven't gotten any more videos put together. I'll get cracking on them.😁
I see someone riding a Honda ATV. THE ONLY ATV/UTV BUILT FOR IDAHO. These new machines with CVT transmission get destroyed in the mountains around Elk City, ID. Honda still has a real transmission that doesn’t break. Great video guys!
@@Alaska610ish the only time that Honda had any trouble was in the high elevations pulling a load. Other than that, she just kept right on trucking! Thanks for the kind words!
So honest question: what percentage of the entire trip could have been done in pretty much any 4x4 passenger vehicle? After 30 years of SxS and ATV ownership I'm done and just trying to plan a trip without all the hassles associated with it. Based on footage I'm going to say maybe 80%? Thnx.
There is some narrow stretches that would be tough for a jeep but there are alternate routes nearby. You would also have to go late in the year to make sure the snow drift was completely gone up around Pinion Peak and the only problem with that is it puts you out there during wildfire season.
If you're just looking for a storage type trailer, there's Bosski and Marlon. They didn't have exactly what I wanted, so I built my own. What size are you looking for? What will you be pulling it with?
@@atvtrailscouts4765 hi! Thank you for the response! We've a Polaris General 4 seat 1000cc that we're hoping to to take. I've heard that some of the switchbacks can be tight, so I'm not sure if it alone will be too long, let alone trying to haul a trailer. We may have to take our ATV's, then it will be my sportsman 1000.
My wife and me are building a trailer to pull behind our sxs and planing on doing the kat trail in ky next year then the year after we would love to do this trip with you all.....
@@atvtrailscouts4765 Are you folks headed back out this way again by chance? I’ve upgraded my whole kit. 2018 XP-1000 and a pull behind torsion axled off-road cargo trailer.
@katz551 no plans as of yet but there are a couple of us contemplating a trip across the country from north to south. If we do, it would be later this year.
Love your vid! My wife and i are planning trip in Idaho on sxs and came across this video. Can you sell me this map. Its EXACTLY what we are looking for. Jason
Ezra Scott here long time no talk but anyway what month did you take this trip. We are going to plan a trip in memory of Big Brian Thompson our friend who we miss dearly
Hey Ezra! We did this trip the first and second week of July. You have to watch getting to Pinion Peak too early as it will most likely still be blocked by snow as evident at 28:49 of the video. It's frowned upon if you try to navigate around it like we did. We were extremely careful but not everyone is which is why they don't like for you to do it. I found out after the fact. August is definitely a safer bet but then you are in wildfire season and it's a crap shoot whether or not something will be closed due to fire.
A group of friends and I are wanting to do this ride. How did you find maps for it, and are you able to share the route with us. I have tried different avenues to pit this ride together, but I am not finding good maps.
I could smell the evergreens in this video! We just rode TW200s from Fairfield to Wallace on the Tour of Idaho T3 give or take (some of your guys same route) and then back down the BDR give or take some of our own added in. Trip of a lifetime. Hauled the bikes to our buddy's place in Fairfield from upstate SC and also toured around the Sawtooths for about a week. What a place man. Enjoyed this one. Ours is documented on here if you ever want to check it out. Fantastic state
I've watched this video 4 times already and it's very well put together! I keep checking your channel in the hopes you have something new in the future. I hope you guys are doing well!
Thank you very much and I apologize for the terrible response time. Not sure how this one got by me. We are doing good, just been busy with work and side gigs. We hope to get back out there at the end of the summer and I also hope to get more videos posted in the near future!
We're still doing them, just haven't taken the time to get the last 3 videos done. Between my job and side job of playing with these trailers, there just not enough time lately. I'll get better! Thanks for your interest and encouragement!
I love the trailers. I have one and want to put a roof top tent on it. Can you tell me what what you used for the risers from trailer to tent. Please and thank you. Great stuff.
Being a flatlander, ya gotta love a trip that starts by going up a road called parachute hill. By yourself in a Honda Fit causes a causes a strange feeling somewhere below the stomach.
Please make sure your next trip in Wallace that you 1. Keep to the speed limit. 2. Obey the stop signs. Turn your stereos down. We ACTUALLY live in Wallace raise our kids to have endless processions of ATVS speeding, blasting music, and NEVER stopping at stop signs. I watch it everyday. I wish these guys had to fill out paperwork with addresses so we could have the opportunity to do the same in your neck of the woods. We here in Wallace other than the shop owners who “need” you types for income DO NOT like what this has done to our town. Just show us respect. I’ve confronted a couple groups and have always been met with disrespect.
Kind of like what you just showed me by assuming that me and my group operate the same way. We, infact, do not act this way as we are guests and we understand this. Take your rant to the ones that need to hear it. We do not.
@@atvtrailscouts4765 I operate an off road tour company in Canada and Baja Mx. I have to side with @benschlotte8242 on this one. He did not single you out personally. He has every right to put his message out as a blanket request reminding ALL OF US, just like "Speed Limit" or "Fire Danger" signs on the side of the road is for EVERYONE. Imagine the noise and dust alone are enough to overwhelm a town. I've seen clothes lines with fresh laundry caked with road dust, campers tents fill with dust, farm dogs kicked, and arguments in the middle of the road with locals begging riders to slow down. This is just due to the large number of machines rolling by with no intentions of harm, but they do lack so much awareness. Most of the time the riders hang their heads in shame, but every once in a while they do get rude. Your channel offers many the opportunity to experience the joys and blessings of what very few of us get to do. All the commenter is asking is that you see things from his perspective and keep it all in check. If you do, then certainly his message is aligned with your own actions and mindset. The fact that you took offence to this and replied as such, makes me think that you are NOT the kind of rider the trails or back country towns, need or want as you will be just as confrontational (and wrong) on the trail as you are in this chat. Ride Safe.
My God people are petty!! These posts are what's wrong with the world...these people were extremely respectful and y'all are bagging on good people who injected money into those communities and produced some wholesome content. A rolled stop sign I hope that was satire... That is NOT what the first person was ranting about...and you know it. Stop being a petty keyboard Karen....
@CraigL804 🤣 so you what think it’s one guy rolling through a stop sign ?? It’s constant processions of these vehicles up to 20+ ALL not just slowing down and rolling through… they don’t even bother to slow. ALL in order to keep in a little precious line. I love on a corner street so I’ve had one of them block the intersection of a through street to keep us from going about our day just so NO one gets in between them. I’ve seen them Stop in front of my home and pass beers to each other and proceed to open and consume them. Had some of them try to talk to my 6 year old daughter lure them closer to the side by sides. See them on our Main Street Bank St. line up 2-3 wide to race hitting 50 mph in a 20 mph zone. They think they can launch over our wood covered bridge that has a slight ramp to it. I go out to moon pass up from my home and there is trash. Piled up from them sleeping in the woods. So sorry if you think that would be acceptable in YOUR town. But it’s NOT. And if it’s not this guys group then the rest of them make you ALL look bad!! I moved here 12 years ago for rest and retirement and ALL I hear everyday is countless processions of these side by sides. They are so loud that the drivers and passengers wear headphones. There is NOT one wallace citizen that will ever say wow we LOVE what this has done to our small town. So call me a Karen bud !! But until you have this happen to YOUR neighborhood than you know NOTHING.
Thank you very much! There's no business, and I'm the one that builds them. Its just a side job for me and i enjoy building them. I've been building them for about 10 years now.
I'm not sure that I do because I lost alot when I swapped computers. I'll have to get on there and dig around for it and see what I can find. Shoot me an email and I'll let you know what I find. ceg043@hotmail.com
@rrrussell1009 Thank you! I couldn't either about 10 years ago when I started looking so I had to build my own. I build them for others every so often as well. I've pulled mine about 5000 miles out west. With me and her riding one atv, it's a necessity. It started as just a storage trailer but has morphed into this thing I pull now.
@@atvtrailscouts4765 small kitchen setup with it or just storage. Have been on the hunt for small kitchen trailer without much luck. Only finding larger ones that are way too big for atv/utv use unfortunately.
@@rrrussell1009 Just storage. On a 50" trailer, there just isn't enough room if you're trying to keep it compact and light enough. All of our kitchen stuff packs into a storage tote that is hauled inside.
Sir you did an excellent job of planning and guiding this ride. I have been riding off road for 23 years and have planned and led many rides but nothing I've done compares. I'd love to ride with you some time if you allow seniors along.
Hello! Great video! One question, are all of your machines 50” wide or trail models? Would someone with a 60” machine be able to do the same trails? Thank you in advance!!
Thank you very much! A 60" machine would have no problems with this route. The 2 rzrs are 68" wide. There is one spot before Pierce that was narrow, but they made it just fine.
@@atvtrailscouts4765 thank you for responding. I just bought my first sxs and am so excited to start exploring!! Your trailers are awesome! Would did you buy them? I’ve got a Boreas XT I pull with my trailer. Your setup reminds me of that. Where did you buy your trailer as I’m super interested in purchasing one as well!!
Thank you, Joe. We have still been doing these, I just haven't been able to get the videos put together yet. Between a couple of other projects and a full-time job, extra time has been pretty scarce. I'll try to do better and get them done here pretty quick. Thanks!
Can you guys comment on what you of trailers everyone used. I have a Polaris 570 SP Touring and want to get a trailer that I can put my gear on for summer trips. Thanks?
Yes sir! I build these on the side. Shoot me an email and I'd be happy to talk to you about them and answer any questions you might have. ceg043@hotmail.com
@@atvtrailscouts4765 You motivated me to build an ATV trailer to camp with. This summer I'm planning a trip from the top Utah border (Beaver Mountain) to the bottom Utah border at Kanab. In large because of your adventure.
