Hi! Hope you still rockin’ safely! I wondered if you had tried enabling 4 fx units so that the S2 controlled the fx1&2 and the x1 the fx3&4 13:38 (keeping your nice mapping of eq’s shifting the fx’s 👍🏼) and mapping some sort of shifting to enable those for units on each deck. Ive got a lovely S2mk1 which works perfectly so the only thing im missing is a cheap way of controlling 2 more fx units and maybe a 3d vynil deck 🤙🏼 just by adding n mapping an X1mk2. I can see you're getting a bunch of questions that have nothing to do with your video. Apologies for being another one. I'm on a wild quest to see if it's possible to change settings in Ableton through the amp using a GAFC controller. I've seen some basic foot switches used to do this, but I haven't figured out yet if it's possible to send cc commands from the amp back to Ableton to set up a configuration for automated recording. Any thoughts?
Hello! Sorry just seen this. Interesting question and I'm no expert but in short, no I don't think it's possible, or at least not easily. As far as I'm aware the amp doesn't transmit anything in midi to say what what it's in and it's midi that ableton would need to then change the settings in the session itself. It would probably be easier to get something like the Korg EC-5 Foot Controller I think just plugs in via USB and you can map to controls in Ableton like any other controller. Hope that helps!

Hi, sorry just seen this. If you watch the video, I'm using the midi output from ableton to change patches in the Katana via Midi (with USB) so the sound comes out of the amp - nothing to do with VSTs

Hmmm...not had that problem. I use it with my Focusrite Scarlett interface - Set the audio driver ASIO then select Focusrite Asio (or whatever it says) rather than the KATANA driver. The audio should then just come out of the amp (or line out / headphone out).

Hey there. For some reason at 5:36 I couldn't loopMidi. There were other options for other midi devices I have plugged in. Does there need to be any configuration done in the loop midi application prior to changing the midi settings in pure data?
Nevermind, I just had to hit the "plus button" to add a loopMidi Port. I'm now stuck at 6:33 though. When I click through all 7 devices none of them are the xbox 360 controller. Strange. Hopefully you respond, in the meantime I'm going to attempt your GlovePie method. Thanks for all the info!
@@McBobtheruggaman Glad you found the loopMidi! I wouldn't bother with GlovePIE as it's so dated now which is a shame. I'm pretty sure someone raised a similar issue a while back and it's because your computer thinks you have more than 8 USB devices connected (including things like usb hubs, etc). The fix was to remove the box input selector and just manually increment the number in the input box below it until the message above appears in the log window. Not a particularly scientific fix but it worked.
