My grandfather was there, with the Canadian 4th Division. Later his life was saved by a German soldier. Grandpa says the fraternization happened all the time, when the officers weren't looking. This is how we stop wars. It's up to the soldiers to say no.
This real event goes show that humanity strives for anything other than hatred, I like to think that the soldiers who did this wanted to end the war right there, and if they could’ve, both sides of men would’ve laid down their rifles.
Merci pour cet extrait de Joyeux Noël. Un très beau film ❤. J'ai le 0:53 plus profond respect pour tous ces hommes qui ont bravé tout les interdits. Une journée pour oublier cette guerre.
Included the military of others country tried for years to denied this happened in 1914 Christmas. But lucky the true won and everybody knew this story was real
Only one time happened this situation. Never more. Pope J. P. II tried to do the same thing with war in centre europe. But he failed The soldiers continue with the war. In this case Hate could more than love
No more war in Europe! My Great Grand Father fought in World War 1. We must stand united! Against any threat for us. Greetings to you all from Austria. Max
The saddest part of war has to be that most of those doing the fighting and dying are little more than kids barely into their twenties. Such a waste of potential and life.
These men had to be transferred to another front because they didn't want to kill the people they met. Virtually none of these men were still alive two years later.
