GRE is only one of the six criteria (CGPA, Research, SOP, LOR, GRE, TOEFL) used for holistic evaluation. Many universities have waived GRE. But it can be beneficial to have a good score where GRE is required/optional.

If your target is USA only, TOEFL or IELTS any one is okay. TOEFL is not accepted everywhere outside USA. Depends on your desired university and country requirements. Research experience is not mandatory. You can try to collaborate with professors from other universities or maybe do a thesis based Masters. I will try to make videos on admission process in future.
