Simply beautiful. The filming IN the river just WOW!! Love your filming and editing, your photos, your 360 view at the end too. Everything about this video is amazing! Thank you for sharing. 🏞🏕💜💜
I've watched my fair share of hiking videos - especially The Winds. Your concise, fantastic, no nonsense editing, and I don't generally like the music as loud as you mixed it, captured the essence of the hike. Brings me back to my time there, albeit never made it to Vista Pass, just Three Forks and did the Slide Lake & Clear Lake hikes from campsite, both outstanding day trips. Plan to loop Gannet from Green Lakes via High Line some day with off trail lake explorations down the road. Thank you kindly. Super PS We're doing Island Lake from Pole Creek TH next week. Driving in from MN, with plenty of sightseeing along the way. The Winds are captivating and deserve the attention for sure. Someday folks will also realize how the even more beautifully intimidating, larger in area, and less hiked Absarokas continue to be less traveled (Yellowstone, Tetons, Winds n Beartooths draw the attention away) - maybe a good thing for now.
Thanks so much for your comments! The Winds no question my favorite place on earth. Last year and this I had to force myself to see some other areas but will definitely be back. Island Lake and Titcomb Basin are incredible!Have fun!
Thank you for sharing your EPIC journey. I loves the Winds but haven't explorer this area because of the road conditions. Looks like you carry a heavy pack with all your cameras and equipment.
Enjoyed seeing this scenery...again...through your lens. Nice camera work and video editing! I visited the same area in late July/early August of '21. Looks like you had better luck with the weather and the smoke than I did.
My pleasure! September is definitely the time to go I think. We did it mid summer and found it a little warm for us. I would also research as much as possible the route down from Sawtooth. Soft sand most of the way down and I can’t imagine we took the optimal route. I think we might not have traversed far enough before starting the decent in earnest. The way we went was pretty sketchy, at least for us. An Incredible trip that we still talk about. Have fun!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! Late August. I’m not going this year so I haven’t checked the snow levels there. You may want to check. June can be hit or miss with snow. I use the Snotel site.
Awesome video. This is one of the better videos I’ve seen showing the canyon below the confluence. I was there in March 22 and I’ll be there next week!! I’m still looking for some of the petroglyphs in Kelsey’s book.
@@mwhennaz I actually just redrew the route in All Trails. I hope to complete it this coming September! Thanks for the inspiration. I'd always seen Hamilton Lakes and the cliff trails beyond, but didn't quite know how to connect it all. Thanks for sharing!
@@geofftutko cool. Enjoy. Multiply the magnitude of what you see in the video by 10. One of the most epic places I’ve been. The boys and I still compare everything to Hamilton Lakes.
I camped in the same place in 2020. Glad you had good weather. This was the spot two trees fell on my tent in the middle of the night. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qf3VpsDV_qo.html
Awesome hike! We've haven't hiked this area of Utah but would like to. Appreciate the helpful information in your description. Thank you for sharing your very memorable journey with us! 👍
Been out this trail twice after camping in my van at The Narrows CG. Caught some nice rainbows about a mile out from the lake. Heading out again in 2023. Just love the Winds. Im from Vermont. The Green Mountains here are wonderful but too many flatlanders. The San Juan’s in Colorado, Big Horns in Wyoming and Hungry Horse, Montana are my three go to areas.
Hello John. We have similar backpacking tastes. I love the San Juans as well. Thinking about heading back there next year since it’s been a few too many years.
Would love to see some awesome hikes and places in Montana, one of my favorite states to do road trips. The drive through the mountains from Missoula to Spokane, WA was beyond breathtaking. As well as exploring Oregon. Will definitely check out Hungry Horse next time I visit Montana. Thanks for your comment 💜 🏞 💜
Wow, the air is so clear. I went about a month after you and sometimes you could not see Squaretop and other times you could barely see it from the smoke. I posted a video as well but I went a different way. I like your photos and some of the angles you video'd. Nice job.
Another thought. While the temperatures were nice, the trees still didn’t have leaves. The next time I go back I’m going to try late April early May when it should greener.
I've enjoyed some great hikes in Wyoming but not the Wind River Range -- yet! Beautiful pictures/video and makes me even more eager to get out there myself! Thanks for posting this!
Hello Liz. I’m not a fan of heights to be honest so it was certainly not comfortable for me. The trail is fairly wide through that section though, which helps.
Loved this! To be able to see the TRAIL, w.o. a lot of unecessary blah blah blah . We will know mileage, camping spots, etc. when we get there!! Plus it always changes, right!? (Plans, I mean.) Zach is intrepid, lol!
Hello. I took this picture recently of a crested saguaro in Sahuarita. It has a small hole in the center and with proper timing, location and camera settings was able to create this effect with the sun coming through the hole. I recalled you asking about crested saguaros and thought you might appreciate this image. hennfamaz.smugmug.com/Marks-Photography/Crested-Saguaro/i-r3mBsqn
