Oh man you are wrong the movie intro rapper is not Grandmaster Melle Mel, I always wondered that's not sound like Grandmaster Melle Mel I just found out the intro rap by DLB from Fearless Four!
I seen some weirdos online, saying Caribbean/Latinos, didn't help create Hip-Hop, then I instantly though of this movie, which clearly proves otherwise = if you weren't in the BRONX/East Coast in the 80's, then you don't have a clue what's what = "Beat Street" such a good movie, I could watch it forever, over & over
I wish a movie was made really depicting the “real” times and the actual creation of the culture . It existed before 84 , ! The real needs to be told . How , and where it was created. Who & what started it. And authentic history lesson.
No other movie ever captured the culture the way this movie did. Every now one then I pass areas where they shot scenes when I visit the BX and it takes me right back. Great film!
Me and my lil brother used to watch this movie religously, great time to be a kid, Hip-Hop was so Raw back then, No fakin the funk, it was beautiful!!!❤❤❤
Saw this is in the theaters, Cinema City in Fresh Meadows, summer of 84 with my mom. It was a 103 degree day. Wow, didn't realize it was 40 years until this video popped up.
