Don't know if it's sister Brooks or someone else keeping these reairs going, but thank you. Michael was my North star and he left at a time where his thoughts were so necessary. He'll never be forgotten long as I'm alive.
Update, as of July 2024. Joe Biden who, showing significant signs of dementia, has dropped out of the presidential race against Donald Trump (again 🙄). Kamala Harris was chosen as is VP, has accepted a number of endorsements, will seek the party’s nomination in August, and now stands a good chance of winning the White House. I re-watched this video to remind myself what kind of president we may have if she wins. I still like Bri’s last point. We’re not making these substantive critiques to tear Harris down, we’re doing this because we want her to be better for our sake.
It's does matter because it's CIA who uses kashmir terrorist group like lashkar e taiba and jaish e mohammed to attack India. Like the attack of mumbai in which CIA was indeed involved
shapiro is a very poor debator, he is stupid, narrowminded and only knows talking points which he repeats over and over. it works in the predictable environment where he does it, like the US media, etc. Didn't work with someone outside of sapiro's huge ego bubble, and it won't ever work with anyone outside of his bubble
After seeing some of Anthony Fantano's videos I wondered how much he knew about reggae. From this video, I realize he knows next nothing about it. Granted this from five years ago but I doubt much has changed.
It's fun to see Briahna before she became the charismatic leader she is now, tempered by the fires of experience and made confident in her judgement by those experiences.
RIP brother, saw this pop up on my feed today and thought it was the last one. It's crazy that he was completely healthy, it just isn't fair that he's gone. Sorely missed.
While the RAND Corporation's origins can be traced back to Project RAND, a military initiative established after World War II by Curtis LeMay, Douglas Aircraft, etc., that focused on issues of that time period, it is no longer run by the military, nor does it have the same focus or scope. Since cutting ties with its roots and becoming an independent research group, RAND has evolved significantly over the decades into a nonpartisan organization, free from political or ideological bias. Its research is guided by rigorous methodologies and a commitment to facts and evidence. Ironically, despite RAND's commitment to factual, evidence-based research, it has become the subject of various conspiracy theories, which is easy to do if you tie in its since severed roots such as shown in this documentary. But as already stated, today's RAND is NOT Curtis LeMay's RAND, except for its origin, name and the idea of creating a Research And Development think tank for public and private policy. The difference between RAND, a non-partisan think tank, and partisan think tanks, is that RAND does not lobby for policies. It simply does empirical research to provide data to help make more informed decisions. Does it always get it right? No, even studies using the best scientific practices can be faulty as new information and techniques evolve over time. That's just the way science works. But RAND does its best to ensure that their work is credible, ethical, and useful by adhering to six key principles in its research: rigor, legitimacy, transparency, relevance, engagement, and inclusion. Conspiracy theories are easy to create if you mix in some facts, in this case, mixing in RAND's origin story under Project RAND and incorrectly linking it with today's RAND as the same organization. UFO's take a similar path. The acronym UFO initially had a much broader meaning related to national security concerns rather than extraterrestrial origins. We were just coming out of WW2 and the country was still on high alert for possible attacks such as by V-2 rockets, the first artificial object to travel into space that were developed as a "vengeance weapon" to retaliate against Allied bombings of German cities. UFO was originally used by the military to describe any unidentified flying object that could potentially be a threat, including experimental aircraft, spy planes, or weapons from other countries. The U.S. Air Force defined a "UFOB" (Unidentified Flying Object Bulletin) as "any airborne object which by performance, aerodynamic characteristics, or unusual features, does not conform to any presently known aircraft or missile type, or which cannot be positively identified as a familiar object". During the 1950s and 1960s, UFO sightings were often interpreted through the lens of Cold War anxieties. There were concerns about secret Soviet weapons or surveillance technologies, which contributed to the military's interest in investigating UFO reports, which triggered secret programs to try to detect them. So does proof exist that we were highly concerned and secretly investigated UFO sightings for years and try to keep it covert? Yes. But does that mean that we were looking for crafts from alien planets? No, that part just got grafted onto this bit of fact later as scifi movies and literature, public fascination with the possibility of alien life and media coverage of UFO "sightings" blossomed into a cottage industry. I bring this up because what is particularly striking about the RAND conspiracy theories is that one of RAND's key initiatives is combating what they term "Truth Decay" - the diminishing role of facts and analysis in public life. RAND's work on Truth Decay aims to: 1. Raise awareness about the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories 2. Help people critically evaluate the news and information they consume 3. Promote the importance of fact-based decision-making in policy and public discourse You can find out more about it along with resources to help decipher the truth here: www.rand.org/research/projects/truth-decay.html BTW - scientists that helped develop the atomic bomb also experimented with LSD. In fact, many scientists dabbled with it since its psychoactive effects were first discovered in 1943, so it not the shocker you think it is.
every week i feel like michael is still here from the amount i watch him, and i feel intense denial and sadness everytime i remember he’s not here to tell us what he’s thinking. may he live on, ultimate chiller
I was so impressed with his knowledge outside of American politics, I am from the UK and he knew everything about what was going on here, his support for Corbyn was great to hear. Michael really wanted to improve this world we live in ❤
I only discovered Michael recently because of Brian Mier. I was a huge Jimmy Dore fan but Michael really opened my eyes for stuff i couldn't see. Its such a tragedy that he was taken so soon. Rest in power.
