I really enjoyed this episode the acorn turned out really cool. An easy way to bend thin metal is to use a thick book and place your metal between pages, leaving the edge sticking out where you want to bend it, and bend away. Also, a medium grit sandpaper or a metal file to round those corners a little.
I do, well, I did until a house fire lol. I do plan to get another when I am able to move back in my house. I like it very much. I use it with my iphone.
I think I was just trying to keep the video shorter than my usual. I may make another video and show the whole process, or at least a good part of it, but speed it up a bit.

So BEAUTIFUL! I watched your vids appx. 5 yrs ago. Had to put up my clay for awhile, but am back to it now! I just love the technique with these colors and how the glass beads a partially covered with the white clay like that. I am a sea lover, so this is such a striking piece for me. How thick is the copper you’re using and did you use a hammer to “tool” the copper or is it just pushed into the copper? I am wanting to make some decorative corners for a leather box I’ve made but can’t seem to find anything in the size I need, how flexible is the copper you are using is it easy to bend by hand or would you need pliers?
I used 36-gauge copper sheets and it is thin enough that a hammer isn't needed. There are several gauges available so you should be able to find something suitable for your box corners. The 36 gauge is very flexible, no pliers needed. I use wooden and plastic tools to emboss into the metal.
Oh, I forgot to answer your question regarding the patterns. I create some by hand, some with stamps and others with everyday household items and/or things found in nature
I'm not sure but I know (now) that sanding the edges of the metal is an option. I'll have to research exactly what is recommended. This is why I love RU-vid, there are so many creative and experienced people here. I'm just a newbie playing around with different mediums. :)
Thank you for sharing! I am looking for larger gold/brass colored sheets to emboss by hand, and it's difficut to find, especially anything larger than A4. @@ChrisKapono Thank you! I did ask and they aren't sure. Pewter 0.3mm and brass 0.3 doesnt react the same way to embossing. I just tried a sample piece at 0.3mm and it's impossible to emboss the way you would a sheet of pewter aluminum :(
Thank you very much! I think the surface of the hollow eggs has the perfect blend of porous and non-porous qualities which allow the ink to behave like it does. I have painted wooden eggs with alcohol ink, but the ink is absorbed immediately, and you can't get the "blooming" effects. I haven't tried it on plastic eggs, but I imagine the ink would just run right off the smooth curved surface. Alcohol ink was actually made for non-porous surfaces, and I have watched artists paint ceramic tiles with it and achieve incredible results! The ink dries to a glossy finish on the smooth polished tile. There are many videos here on RU-vid demonstrating it. It's fascinating to watch! On a curved surface, such as a glazed ceramic egg, it may be a bit tricky though. :)
