Highlights on some of the couples' syllabus paso moves: 0:05---Couple 461--Appel to Promenade to Spanish Drag, Sur Place With Elevations leading to another Appel to the Fallaway Whisk (Ecart). 0:13---Couple 481--Twist Turn? into Separation 0:18---Couple 496--Turning Sur Place L, Chasses to R, Appel into 1-4 of Sixteen ending With More Chasses to the R 0:35---Couple 480--1-8 of the Sixteen into Separation and Fallaway Ending 0:43--Couple 467--1-8 of the Sixteen (or Promenades?) into Spanish Drag, then Appel into Ecart in Place (turning L) into Chasses to R 0:53--Couple 480--Separation and Fallaway Ending 0:59--Couple 467--Appel to 1-8 of Promenades into Spanish Drag, then Appel to Circular Ecart to Sur Place steps, and then 1-8 of Promenades into Spanish Drag again. 1:21--Obviously, this is not novice, pre-championship or championship in this paso heat, so at this expected "highlight" point, I was expecting no spectacular highlights. Couple 467 did not reveal any highlights, just a simple exit into acknowledging a crowd like they would do in a professional ballroom competition, knowing that this "Spanish gypsy dance trumpet fanfare" had already been done to usually end the paso doble music. It is all right at gold level to break into open hold or challenge position for the Spanish Lines and the Flamenco Taps (which fall under the Paso syllabus figures), but I did not see them here. Most of the steps I saw were mainly Bronze level paso steps.
Novice - and I see that these couples have the head-to-the-left mentality, so this is International Standard Waltz they are doing. They are doing such tricks as the continuous Natural Pivot Spins, advanced hovers, contra checks, and oversways........

Neat to see that these youngsters enjoying a wonderful time. Yes, I am glad that I was able to earn in my late teens 2 bronze and a silver… love to go for the gold yet though. Enjoyable post - thank you!
