This works on any version of the game, this is the steam release specifically and you have to use a no clip cheat to get out of bounds and reach the trigger.

provided speedrunners can find an OOB to hit that trigger to skip the lake, would probably save a decent chunk of time especially considering the RNG hell that Del Lago is otherwise tho effectively useless unless running tool assisted i know the ditman glitch is the key to OOB glitches provided leon can jump off something but there isnt anything for him to do so
although there is the boat and while idk if something like that can be achieved with the boat its the only thing leon can interact with and it doesnt send him straight into a cutscene like the remake does once interacted with perhaps getting on and getting off at just the right angle would allow him to clip OOB
Would definitely be cool if a speedrunner could figure something out. For now it's just a neat thing, or something to do on your millionth playthrough and don't want to deal with fish boy.
