We buying broken, sometimes untested phones, laptops and sometimes desktop parts online and local if we can find them at a reasonable price. We test them and attempt to repair/refurbish them at a cost that's under the used market price if possible. I've been working on Tech stuff for years and want to share the experience with you all as long as your willing to watch and learn with me. If our old devices can be fixed lets fix them we as individuals may not want them anymore but it could be a god sent to someone else, In doing so we're helping to reduce e-waste.
Hello. Thank you for this video. Not many that give many insights 😄 So everything with my Samsung Galaxy S5 works well, but here's the thing... The Volume buttons work really well. With my power button, the case is that it is working, so no problem whatsoever with the ribbon. Only thing is that it's not stable, but rather moving like a seesaw. So it is still functioning well but rathee just not stably fabricated. Luckily I have another power button. So I wanted to just take this one out, which itself does work, bit is just a bit unstable and replace it with a new one. Since I can easily take out the power buttin without turning off my phone, there is no need to do that, right? Just wanna physically put in another one. Since the ribbon is fine and just my current button is a little wobbly instead of stable I wanted to take it out and put another one in. Nothing I have to worry about, right? Just wanted to get a heads up from you before 😅 Thank you for the video and hope you respond 🙂 @DRepair tips
can I ask a question that is related to this? am taking my phone to get fixed tomorrow(the home button to be more precise just like this video) and the thing that is worrying me is that will all my data get deleted or disappear if I get my home button fixed?? or would everything be the same I would really appreciate it if you can answer me as quickly as possible thank you very much.
Hi sorry for the late response. Your data should be fine replacing the home button doesn't affect your data in anyway. To remove and fix the button they'll have to remove the screen. So your data will be safe.
@@DRP4tips of course the button doesn't work anymore after I dropped the phone on my carpet and the ribbon is working because I manage to power on or off with a toothpick. I ordered a set of volume and power button from Aliexpress. I think the button can be mounted just by taking of the old button from the ribbon like you shown in the video and after that the new button which I ordered can be mounted on ribbon just by applying a small amount of push on it to stick on the hole. I'm not sure if it need to be glued to the ribbon, maybe you can tell me I must glue the new button or not.
Thank you! You are one of the only people on RU-vid doing this without taking the screen etc. off as well and when I am just looking for a replacement power button I find a replacement for an entire middle part of the phone instead, even though I just need the power button at the moment! Lol
Spent way too much time on BS issues before getting to the problem. He also did not explain how the external button was replaced which is the TITLE OF HIS VIDEO.!!! The part he replaced is the SWITCH NOT THE BUTTON!!!!! This gets a big fat THUMSE DOWN!
Hi... I Have A Samsung S5 Neo & Power Button Fell Out :( I Still Use It On/Off With My Nails. I Just Need The Button But Phone Shops Say They Don't Sell Button, They Have To Replace Whole Ribbon (Hell Expensive!) If I Buy A Button Off Ebay, Would It Easily Clip In?? OR I'd Have To Open Up Phone Like You Did? Please Let Me Know.
The buttons for power and volume are easy to remove and replace. You wouldn't need to replace the ribbon once it's still working just place the new button inside the housing
Ohhh, Thank You Soo Much! I Wasn't Sure What It'd Attach On To... If It Clips In Then That's Good. Do You Know If S5 & S5 Neo Have Same Size Button?? I Can Only Find One Off Ebay For An S5. I Think It Should Be Same. But Shape Of The Button Looks A Little Different. Thank You Once Again Though For Replying! :)
The buttons seem to be a little different so I'm not sure the plain S5 will work. I searched for Neo buttons and could only find buttons from Spain and Germany so found the next best thing. A broken device with all that you need for around 10USD link below let me know if you'd like a short video on removal and installation.. www.ebay.com/itm/303573745759
@91 Restoration and Fix : I have S5 power button that fell out and I still have it. Still powers on if I poke it with a toothpick. I found your video about changing buttons ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r9zhlNePoJM.html Thank you, both videos are appreciated.
Jamaica is not a real place??????????? wey u mean by that?? dwl. ummmmm I'm sure it real I was there a few months ago....lol. Anyway.....how about a volume button key that doesn't work after a charging port replacement???? "Any fix it" tips. Raised the prongs twice..very high and str8end them and still the volume keys do not work. Would appreciate any input...ty. gr8 vid btw
DWL 'Jamaica is not a real place' is a saying Jamaicans have when things seem extremely outrageous and you just can't believe it or if something is too expensive for no apparent reason in Jamaica. If the volume key worked before the charging port replacement it could be that something was either damaged during the replacement or it's being shorted but further testing would be needed.
