Twos Up is my jam and i agree playing with girls is the best on fly on the wall. Brian sounds like he's having an orgasm at the start. Strange vocal production on that album I agree.
@@EddyCannistraci Government/ corporate merged interests lie about everything, and when their mouthpiece media are running relentless fear campaigns it should always be a major red flag. Hopefully people learned something from it and become a bit more alert next time. Unfortunately people forget so quickly as they're conditioned, and they'll jump the same way the next round. Mass 'cyberattacks' will be the next false flag to get the population on board with the push for CBDC and mandated injectables/physical scans... I agree with you though. The Soft Parade is badly underrated. It has some of my favorite Doors moments on it. 👍🏻
Cool video Eddy! Thanks for that. Btw Ive always thought that twos up was a game the the ANZAC soldiers used to play during the war. Involving two coins being thrown and bets being made. I. E. Gimme heads, Gimme tails, Gimme double up or nothing! Peace out ✌️😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and for your "Two's Up"' theory: definitely sounds feasible (of course the band is turning the idea of the game into a sexual metaphor per usual). Peace out. ✌🏼😉
Yeah, Eddie. This was fun, and as per usual, your quick sense of humor and down to earth approach, always makes it work! I myself do like it better when the songs are talked about. Maybe a Top 3-5 for each LP, you know. I realize that doing this quickie listing is basically conforming to the masses' lack of attention. You know, do it quick so they watch. Its a shame how people can't seem to pay attention for long anymore. Due to having way too much on the The plate. But i say if youre gonna eat, then have some decent, tasty & substantial food there to enjoy. So this, plus a ranking, and talk about your favorite and least favorite songs. Anyway, always great to see you (and hear you), Eddie! Marc ⚡
Thanks, Marc. Funny thing is when I first did this video it kind of flopped and a few of my subscribers voiced their concern that I wasn't going to be doing more in depth videos anymore. I was just trying something different and Saxon has so many albums that it seemed like a practical and fun way to tackle 'em all. Jump one year later and the video has actually become one of my more popular videos, so maybe my approach wasn't wrong for people outside my subscriber pool. My old NWOBHM video series was similarly a slow burn and now it's popular, so in the future I might do more in that series: in which case I'll do a more in depth review of Saxon's early albums. Not that I make videos just for the clicks, but it takes time to edit them and make them as good as possible, so obviously I don't want to put in the work if no one is watching. Anyway, thanks again for watching and for commenting. It's always appreciated.
@@EddyCannistraciAbsolutely, Eddy. No worries, and I fully understand. It's smart to try it this way anyhow. I mean, most people don't have a strong enough of an attention span, attention to detail, or genuine interest to be that into it. Shame. But I know this, as long as you're involved, it will always be entertaining, intelligent and humorous. Give me the choice of a lame, humorless host doing a longer, detailed show vs. someone like you doing a shorter, less informational one, you know which way I'm going! Because, look, I already know a ton about most of these great bands and artists, so tuning in for the entertainment value is, really, the most important factor for me. So, for me, you're one of the good hosts, Eddy. And I always look forward to your shows! Keep rockin'... Marc
I did a review for this VHS a while back also. it's somewhat Boring BUT Looking back on it it is a Great Video. I do Love Fly on the Wall The people who don't Like Fly on the Wall OR Flick of the switch are people who have ONLY Highway to Hell & Back in Black Albums in their collection / Not Really Big Fans
Another great video!! Haven't listened to either of these albums in a Loooooooooooooooooooong time, used to really enjoy Blow Up Your Video way back when. You have inspired me to not only check them out again but also go back to Flick Of The Switch!
Thanks as always, Rich, and yeah: definitely throw Flick of the Switch in the mix if you haven't listened to that album in awhile: one of the band's rawest and most primal efforts!
I always really dug Fly on the Wall. Strong sentimentals from it too as I was 12 or 13 and remember cranking it all summer with my friends. Great video, Eddy. I really enjoyed it and I thank thee for making it. ps: As far as the Amazon package I will put my hat in the ring and guess that inside is an entire case of fleshlights. DId I win? What do I win! :)
Glad you enjoyed it, man, and likewise I have fond memories of being that age and cranking Fly on the Wall! You'd win a shoutout, but alas, that's not what was in my Amazon box. You came closer than some others though. 😉👍🏼
I enjoy both albums, always have always will Fly title track is an absolute classic for all time. BUYV is brilliant always has been and Heat Seeker was an enormous hit especially in Australia where it reached #5. Great job as usual Edwin.
Hey Eddie thanks for shout out. No clue about the box. But I’ll copy a Family Guy episode “ it can be anything Lois….it can even can be a boat” lol😂 ohh I’ll guess tickets to a comedy show. I’m copying Family Guy again
This is your funniest video so far. You actually made me laugh out loud. You inspired me to do a Flick Of The Switch review. And I will mention you and tell you overall what I think of this video. Too long to type! This is a rocking video! Great job.
Thanks so much, Ralph: your praise means a lot to me (as you know). I'm also glad you found it funny, especially since I know you don't like these albums as much as me (although I recall you liking "Playing With Girls", which is a Rock N Roll Card essential 😉). Looking forward to watching your Flick of the Switch review....!!!
Fantastic review of two classic, underrated AC/DC albums!!! I'm glad someone likes FLy On The Wall as much as I do. I would still like to hear a remixed version of this album though. Fly On The Wall falls in at #7 on my list with a 9.25, even above Back In Black which is right below with a 9.15. Blow Up Your Video is a bit further down the line at #15 with a 7.75. And in that Amazon box is the new Black Sabbath Box Set, Anno Domini on vinyl.
Thanks so much and despite growing to loving Fly's "hot mess" production, I would also love to hear a remix as well (just listen to how great the title track sounds in that live soundboard video). And re: the Amazon box: great guess but unfortunately I have not upgraded my old digital rips of those Tony Martin era Sabbath albums. Maybe sometime in the future...!! 🤔
Yeah, after making the video, I was a little bummed I forgot to talk about "Chase the Ace": it's literally the only song from the era I didn't discuss! It's definitely one of Angus's strongest solos ever...!!!
Fly On The Wall has been my second favorite Brian Johnson album (after BiB) for 15-20 years. Everybody gets stuck on the production, I remember critics saying it sounded like it was recorded in the Alps. But the songs are some of their best from the 1980's. Fly On The Wall, Shake Your Foundations, Playing With Girls, Sink The Pink, First Blood, ... those are all killer heavy songs! The only song I don't like is "Danger". Fly that flag high, man! I'm with you on this!!!
I happen to think the lyrics to the Fly album are fucking brilliant! So vivid and thick with scum. The whole album is like a sleazy, heavy metal version of James Joyce's Ulysses, only taking place in some squalid little downtown strip of shithole bars, strip clubs, and late night diners. The Brian character is fresh out of prison and back in business as he roams the streets, dodging cops, courting trouble, and drinking himself silly with the boys.
Fly On The Wall always brings the (hot as fuck) summer of 85 in Los Angeles right back in vivid colors. The Nighstalker was out on his rampage and my mom made me take my AC/DC posters down haha
The Production value on Fly on the Wall was pretty bad! Blow up a little bit better, Drumming on both was not that good! There was some really good songs, But Brian vocal were not as good as say Flick which was awesome. These two Album i think was my least fav ACDC albums.
Fair enough. Always glad to get different opinions. You should check out that live clip of "Fly on the Wall" I have a link to in the description. You'll hear, at least with FOTW, Brian's voice was still in great shape: it's the production on that album that makes it sound less impactful as his Flick vocals.
@@EddyCannistraci Yeah! If you check out my last album you will notice that love very much... ;) Here´s the first single: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FWspRS3enJ8.html
Yuo must think, that every song writer do the words before he publlshed the songs, so you think Brian chance hes own style in seven weeks Brian was Bon SCOTT how he do it he jumps on Bon's jeans in seven weeks Brian was Bon how and I heard when Bon SCOTT have writes songs and be brave man and tell us the truth or shame and be a thieve cos every body knows it, Brian in seven weeks Brian was Bon SCOTT think Brian chance the living and give your proude cos you can be Freddy Mercuri put the new Queen on the road To the top 🙂😇😃
@@eppuee5413 If you paid attention to my video, you would’ve heard the following: 1.) they actually had more than 7 weeks. 2.) Brian was writing just the verses and with help from Bon’s two songwriting partners (the Young Brothers) and the producer from HTH, Mutt Lange, who had also helped Bon with lyrics. 3.) Bon was writing in an AC/DC style and Brian, with the above-mentioned help, was intentionally copying that style. 4.) Bon had far less time than Brian to pen BIB lyrics: only 3 days after his first and only rehearsal session for the album and then he tragically died.
@@EddyCannistraci sorry that I Hurt your rules and one write to e-mail but I try to find out something I was whit my mates girl friend seven weeks and they said you did'nt come an other person sorry O
I say give it a try again and then listen to anyone of their recent live shows online. I’ve heard this album on reel to reel and it’s a good effort for 80 year olds.
Great list and total respect man. We are in full agreement on Destroyer. As a kiss fan, I totally get why it usually tops most peoples lists but it’s just not my favorite collection of songs. The first two songs are some of the best Kiss ever did in my opinion But the album kind of takes a dive from there I think. It’s a nice polished sounding record, but I just prefer the more raw kiss and thankfully for me they returned to that sound with the next record. Poor carnival of souls. Man does that record get a lot of hate, no pun. I’m one of the few that actually like it. I think it slaughters Psycho Circus…. but of course it wouldn’t be hard to achieve that. that’s probably the album I was most let down by. One of these days, I might get up enough nerve to do a ranking of my own but for now totally enjoy watching people like you do them. Thanks for that and great Paul impression!
Thanks for watching and for the thoughtful comment. I actually don't hate Carnival of Souls as much as it sounded (not the Gene songs anyway). If they took the best from Psycho Circus and the best from Carnival, they've had a really good 90s KISS album (I forget if I said that or not in the video).
I'm not talking about MTV grunge. Late 80s underground grunge in the vein of Green River and Mudhoney and even Bleach era Nirvana. Melvins were definitely part of that scene and helped define the sound.
@@murray9807 Again: you're expressing a bias based on the mainstream grunge of the 90s (and bands like Alice In Chains and Soundgarden didn't just write songs about "'hating their parents."). I'm talking about the genre's musical evolution in the late 80s. Buzz himself cites the impact and influence they had on grunge. The man was a mentor to Kurt Cobain.
Yeah, it's really funny that I don't think a guy who only had three days after their first rehearsal for the album -- and went on a tragic bender within those three days -- penned the lyrics for an entire album (a feat he never was able to do on their prior albums). Oh, and save for one odd Angus quote that's subject to different interpretations, there's no proof whatsoever that Bon wrote any lyrics on the album. Watch my other videos on the subject to learn more.
they lost me after Goo. They (d)evolved into a much lighter, lack of impact and energy, weak love song, as time went forward. But they got some good tracka here and there on those albums, but overall they lost their peak and their essense got swallowed by pop and expectations Old Youth. Their peak to me was the texas chainsaw massacre era of the EP, Ciccone, Evol, BMR, Spinhead Session, Sonic Death
Wow. Sister doesn't even make your peak era: tough customer! 😅Seriously though, I love hearing all these opinions and I love when people are true to what they love, which clearly you are. Cheers.
