I watch this scene sometimes when im down , i mean really down , like I am right now . Sometimes it makes me tear up cause i feel like the preacher was talking to me just like Goldie feels like he is talking to him and yet the preacher doesn’t even know it. Sometimes i feel lost even though i know where im at and where i wanna go . Every time i get knocked down i watch this scene and ill tell myself everything is gonna be alright and get back up again and keep on pressing. You see Goldie was at the top of his game “knew where he was “ , knew where he was trying to go” but at that moment still felt lost even through he travelled all this way on his journey in life just to be knocked down , but this run in with the church was like as if god was speaking to him and telling him to choose his fate for better or worse . This scene was deep.
It wasn't a sermon, it was a prophecy pure and simple. This movie is old as time, however the words that the preacher spoke then will never change and the actions repeat themselves over and over for so many.
I saw a G. Dope describes my rhymes, making all you MCS cold drop like dimes. You know MCSC is back again, and battling me on the microphone is like committing a sin. I've seen it all. That is me in the picture on the wall. Scott/MCSC
Young Ali Baba here is played by Scotty Beckett 💖👼💖 He was just as amazing of an actor as he was a person 🌟😇💖 If anything he could've played a role alongside Bobby Long 💖👼💖 They almost could've played brothers 💖👬💖
Bless you 4 this lesson. Because I lived with it back in the days. Just like Goldie . But it is GOD who knocked me down and it was BW who picked me up and God and BW showed me how to be a better person and better man for myself blessed y'all 4 the memories. 🙏♥️
Beautiful scene this is after he lost his mother in real life and in the movie notice in the church the black images in the background of either Jesus or one of the prophets paint in black as the Bible says, this church knew the truth...
As he's going down the road, he looked back at his old hometown, He didn't know where he was going he didn't know what he was doing but he was going to a world of trouble, A world of misunderstanding a world of doubt, A world of whores, a world of hypocrites! A world of gamblers, a world of dope smokers! A world of prostitutes! He was going into a mean world, but he didn't know where he was going, You understand me? He didn't know where he was going, He was going to a world that was gonna destroy him, but he didn't know where he was going, You know, so many of us today are doing things to ourselves, because we don't know what we're doing! You understand me? If we just stop and think about ourselves sometimes, everything would be all right, You understand me? We're gonna jump off the Bay Bridge... worried about this man, worried about that man, because we don't know who we are, we don't know where we're going and we don't know what we was here for! You understand me? Good God Almighty, Look at this boy with his big money, He's on the crap table now, shooting his dice, He aint got sense enough to know his money aint gonna last doing these wrong things, doing these worldly things-- gambling and drinking-- it's a end to these things, One of these days, one of these hours, it's gonna run out, But one of these days, you're gonna have to make up your mind to change your ways, I can see this young man-- oh, good God, I can see this young man as he made up in his mind to start back home, He money ran out, his friends walked off and left him, His buddies walked off and left him, his girlfriends quit him, He lost all he had, He had dirt all on his clothes, his hair got bad, He said, "Look at me, just look at me, Here I am, a young man, had a good home, had a good father and had a good mother, but here I am-- turned the rags to riches out here in the mean world, I don't know where I'm going or where I'm coming, I believe I'll go back home," When they got you crying... We got to go home!
I saw this movie in the RKO Fordham when I was a little boy. It was in maybe 1952 to 1956. I recall it so clearly. I hope I can find the full movie somewhere on RU-vid. Maybe RU-vid will open it treasure doors if I say, "Open Sesame!!!" . Gee, it was a great movie.
After all these years the Arabian Nights movies are still important for all humanity. I think that Mankind everywhere must learn from the history of Amazing man and historical perspective.
