Very impressive and handsome dash 9 models from Athearn Genesis, Athearn has really improved their locomotive model detail features and lighting over the past 5 years and these are the improvements of the Genesis 2.0 series. I am impressed by the Athearn Genesis 2.0 series detail features and they have produced many incredible locomotive models over the past 5 years, these GE dash 9 models are spectacular.
Hi. Thanks for sharing. Sadly, the BK cars look a bit "plastic" compare to other cars. The UC car is the best looking of all cars. They worth $66 USD. Not more. We can clearly see that the TTX car ladders are plastic yellow and don't matched the rest of the car. Overall, I would give them a 7 or 7.5 ! There are way better looking cars out there. But they're also much more expensive. Keep on your good work.
Nice review , did you ever find out what happened with the lighting. i found your video because and wanted to compare the brightness of the number boards, mine are very dim, I can hardly tell if there on, I wound have to block the light to tell if there on. Thank You.
I'm kinda surprised you think the BKTY cars are better in person because they are molded yellow and there's a definite difference from the real ones and it's LESS noticeable on the site. The blue cars are nice but should be shiny since they are new. Other than that the details are great just maybe should be sold a little cheaper.

I just bought a bunch of the HubGroup containers and get them later this week. I'm always surprised how quickly the ScaleTrains stuff sells out, I guess they make them in small batches. I'll be comparing them to my Atlas containers to see how they stack up (no pun intended :P)
@@EverythingTrainsMedia I'm not a big fan of Athearn or JTC containers, they are a little oversized for the scale and don't fit will into some brands of well cars. Atlas has been the best so far and seem to fit perfectly with everything with the exception of the ST Backpacker cars, and also the Atlas containers are very nicely detailed with good variety and availability. The ST containers seem like they might be ever so slightly better.
@@EverythingTrainsMedia update, I got the containers and I'm slightly disappointed by them, the fit and finish of the Atlas ones are a little better. The ST ones unfortunately don't grip each other very well so you can hear them rattling around when driving a train, also they don't sit flush in my Kato cars. They seem to be worth a lot of money though so I'll sell them on ebay. I think Atlas is the king of HO scale containers, every other brand I've tried has had some weird issue.
Hope you had a happy Easter! I knew Walthers had been needing to release these, as I got a 3-unit drawbar-connected set in 2020. I have barely touched my layout in the last 2 years, and am just now starting to get around to it again. I just yesterday checked on model train products and found out about these, as well as BLI releasing a die cast SD70ACe in HO Scale.
@@EverythingTrainsMedia have you had any issues with those #120 whisker couplers? I tried using the #158 which is very similar but the whiskers get stuck in the coupler pocket so I had to use #58 with the centering spring instead.
Great review Everything trains. Sometimes I change out the couplers depending on the manufacturer. I find if the wellcars don’t have couplers they derail or disconnect up a grade. Thanks and have a great weekend
I miss Lombard hobbies....im always hoping my job gets me a load up there...i need 2 SP SD40Rs to strip, redetail and repaint....put some GE sideframes on it so i can model ALL 9465 and 9466
These cars are loaded and unloaded from the top. That may be a clean out cover. I think they steam clean these, so maybe they can open that cover, to let the water drain out?
I’m glad we have a more modern run of these units, but what gets me about the model the most is the lack of the sand filler hatches on the nose, that’s one of the Bessemer’s most recognizable locomotive features. Guess that’s something I’ll have to add myself. Cutos to Athearn for not forgetting the mars light!
