I grew up 5 houses down from the SOO Line tracks in Illinois so definitely one of my favorite RR’s… Those NS high hoods were bad ass too.. Great stuff Matt !!
Lots of shiny new auto racks on this monster manifest.. Cool shot as the engines throttle up down the tracks. Always love the CNW box rolling around too !!
@@mattr5708 Thanks for the uploads! Apologies if my comments ever become overabundant at any point, I just can't get enough videos of past eras of railfanning
@@mattr5708 Oh, good question. I don't know, but we're now starting to ramp up for holiday shipping season. Maybe the foreign units have been ordered home. 🤷♀👍
Man, a lot of sweet goodies on this one! I see 5967 got rebuilt and repainted WITH the lightning strip. I like that. Now she just needs wings on the nose. And 6225 still has no PTC array. Trailing unit status only for her. There was an old SP, now Arizona Eastern 40-foot boxcar in there too. Probably built in the late 1970's, but not very many 40-foot boxcars out there anymore. All of those CSS coil cars were nice, but I wish the new ones carried the same nice colors and logos of the old ones. And all of those nice clean brand-new NO graffiti UP autoracks were looking sharp. Good stuff Matt ole boy! 🤠👍
I love seeing a solo engine getting a train moving...even if it is mostly empty. An old SP engine too. But there was a good cut of fully loaded sulfuric acid cars in that train. And those 4-truck flatcars were beasts in their size. Thanks, Matt! 🤠👍
Some pretty incredible echoes on the train at 1:46. '04 was a great era for railfanning, that was about the time I started. Didn't know what anything was yet, but it wouldn't be long before I did.
Cool train with all those awesome CNW cars on there.. Starting with that killer boxcar and followed by several killer hoppers with intact logos. Even snagged a sweet Coil car by CNW.. Sweetness !!
What a great video of a huge grain locomotive 🚂.Great railroading action. Transporting and delivering the nation's products. Love ❤ those union pacific locomotives. Thanks.
