Hi Eddie, thanks for the instructions. I tried it now many times and already did some troubleshooting but the issue stays the same: When I access the phoscon app interface it doesn't show me anything at all besides the logo on the screen. No Gateway, no information, no login....nothing at all. Have you had this, too at some stage? Any idea what to do?
It did happen to me in the past. What I did was first access homebridge via terminal using SSH and run this command to check if the pi has detected the device *ls -l /dev/serial/by-id* Now if its detected then the install did not execute as intended. What i did was download a homebridge backup and reflashed the MicroSd card. Import the Homebridge backup, Access Pi to confirm the conbee stick is detected and then ran the phoscon installation again. If the stick is not detected. Remove it and insert it again together the USB cable extention and run the above command. Let me know if any of the above worked.
For my new home that we have been in for 7 months - have slowly transitioned over to the blue pill. Theres a lot to learn and it's been an interesting journey so far. Start small and grow from there
Hi Eddie, thanks a lot for this amazing tutorial. Do you run the Homebridge Image installed on the Raspberry pi or do you you raspbian image (bullseye or bookworm) on the raspberry pi and then install the homebridge on top of that? Cheers a lot and thanks for you support!
What I have done is used the default Homebridge image which is 64bit and is bookworm, If you are looking to setup containers or use the pi for other applications - then its 64bit Bookworm
How about the range? According to AliExpress specs it has only 20-30 meters. Even outdoors that's very short. But indoors it might not give you more than 10meters of extended range
@@eddiedsuza ok, thanks. Unfortunately this range is way too short for me. I'm wondering who is happy with such a small range extension. There is also not always an electric socket at the ideal position of the house. Anybody knows a better product which deserves the name "range extender"?
@@eddiedsuza thanks for the reply. I figured out the problem. I created a second user just for this since my main account uses 2FA. I didn't know that the second account also needed admin privileges. I assumed Read permissions would be enough but I was wrong. Once I enabled Admin permissions it worked right away. Again, thanks!!
Hi Eddie, Thank you for yet another good video. I setup my new c120 tapo cameras using both plugins. And I observed that the camera plugin works great in streaming the video. The tapo plugin loads and stops and adds a frame after 15 seconds. 1. Am I missing something on the tapo plugin? All the packages are up to date as far as I can see 2. Can both plugins be on at the same time? 3. I put both the cameras in the same room and seems the switches and motion sensor is merged at the room level Thx in advance for your response.
Hey Venkat ... When the video stops - can you please check the logs on why it stopped. Yes you can use both plugins depending on your needs. You just need to make sure the same cam has 2 different names in the Home App
I have a problem over here and hope you can help: I installed everything like you on a flashed raspberry - so far I got everything to work, but in scrypted I don't see anything under devices. In Plugins it is said that some plugins are installed (I even get the QR code for homekit), but - it doesn't work in homekit...
@@eddiedsuza Thanks for your fast response - I had the system work for a long time with a older video of you - but now with this easy method it won't work. I did a fresh install of the OS including Homebridge, used your 1-click-method, added homebridge/scrypted to homekit, added blink and ring to homebridge, installed the homekit plugin to scrypted, etc... I see all cameras in homekit but don't have the home secure video features. I think the problem is in scrypted - as written, the plugins seems to run, but the are no diagrams of usage, videos, etc shown under devices or plugins... PS: a native homekit cam is working perfectly with home secure video
@@T1mj3n thanks for the detailed response. My understanding is that the devices / plugins are working fine in Scrypted. What's not working is HSV for them. With all the recent updates - HSV is now enabled automatically. Now when the cams are connected via cloud services - it takes time to populate the HSV feed. All of my cams are RTSP and are working as intended.
Hey, thanks for your perfect way-to-video. Everything worked fine until I tried to connect scrypted to homekit. The pairing is timed out after 2 minutes. I read something about ports at my firewall or router, but don't know what to do...
THANKS! using this to integrate some accesories to Homekit that i cant get directly through Hoobs in to homekit. what i am doing is using a virtual switch in hoobs, if set accesory turns on/off, then turn the virtual switch on/off as well. then i can use the virtual switch in homekit as the accesory that i want to integrate. hopefully it works :D
Here is the guide to reset the portioner password - docs.portainer.io/advanced/reset-admin & here it is for scrypted - docs.scrypted.app/maintenance/lost-password.html#lost-password
Love your work, however, I have an issue. After completing both this install guide, and the update guide, while my Conbee II shows in the Phoscon Login page, when I click on it it says “Refused to connect”. And after installing the DCONZ plugin to Homebridge, I get the following error in the logs: warning: 192.168.X.XX: request 1: connect ECONNREFUSED 192.168.X.XX:4530. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Check if this solution works - forum.phoscon.de/t/conbee-ii-does-not-connect/3925 Secondly - until the Conbee I Stick works with the default app - it will show this error in homebridge warning: 192.168.X.XX: request 1: connect ECONNREFUSED
Eddie, thanks a lot from Brazil. You helped me a lot with your tutorial. I was able to configure the blind. I ask for your help regarding the air conditioning that gets hot. I understood in your video that I must get the code for the option that heats up. My device has fan control with 4 speed options and also has the option of swing on or off. It's a Fujitsu. Should I save all configuration options? Example (heat + 30 degrees + fan 100% + swing on), (heat + 30 degrees + fan 100% + swing off), (heat + 30 degrees + fan 70% + swing on), (heat + 30 degrees + fan 70% + swing off), (heat + 30 degrees +fan 50% + swing on), (heat + 30 degrees + fan 50% + swing off), (heat + 30 degrees + fan 20% + swing on), and so on until you complete all heat and cool mode combinations, all temperatures, all speeds and all swing combinations? Another question, the right way to capture the control code is to leave the control in the desired configuration, then turn it off, then put the BroadLink in learn mode and then click on the air conditioning control to turn it on?
Hey Paul - you have to capture and save every configuration option to make it work natively in Homekit ... you'll need to be careful with your copy & paste as well so that when the plugin saves & restarts - you don't see an errors.
I *really* appreciate the work you did with this video! (You probably didn't expect having to do full-time tech support because of this...) I'm getting ready to tackle this but have one basic question. My Broadlink device is currently configured with all my home theater components and IR commands. I assume HomeBridge/HOOBS requires the process you have outlined, as opposed to being able to access the HEX codes that have previously been learned?
Appreciate the feedback as well... Well if you are using Homebridge or HOOBS - you'll need the plugin to capture the HEX codes again to configure your devices but this does not interfere or break your current setup that's connected with the broad link hub.
Thanks for the awesome video, got through the install and the portainer part, when I try to test via MQTT I get "Disconnected from server", is there someway to see the logs for what might be going on. In the test MQTT connection I used the PI IP address and the default port (i.e. 1883) and empty username and password.
Hi, great videos from you Eddie! But I have an issue, Ím stuck at an early stage in the process here. I flashed the SD card, put into my PI 5 and connected it to a monitor via HDMI. So far so good. But when I start the PI 5, and the screen finds my PI named “Smarthemhub” (Ím Swedish :P ) it asks for a login, trying my initials, the IP adress, “Smarthemhub” but whatever I put in, next field is password and my keyboard wont work for the password. Can’t put one character in. What am I doing wrong do you think? Note that I did fill in my wifi in the flashing SD process, meaning Ím wireless connected to internet but my UniFi system picked up the Pi 5 and I did set the IP adress to fixed.
Appreciate the feedback. For the password via terminal - you'll need to type and press enter. You will not see any text on the screen. Additionally if you can connect the pi using an ethernet cable would help as well
Could you make a video about moving everything from the SD card to dedicated nvme SSD? Can i just use rpi-clone to clone everything to the SSD? Will it mess up the IP-adres to acces homebridge etc. ?
Hello Eddie! I am stuck on npm start. I hawe tryd a lot settings on comf.yaml, but end of the day i am getting still an error. Zigbee2mqtt link also not help me further. :(

Hello, I follow your vidéo, and all my devices are in HK, but not in Line ( I’m French sorry for my english) have you an idea of the problem. Big thank you
@@eddiedsuza The part that makes me upset is that I bought the Matter over Threads version of the blind, but they sent the Tuya WiFi one. Since I also live in Brazil, you know how hard it cant be to import another one and pass through customs. At least the vendor reimbursed my order, but now I must rely on internet connection and my raspberry pi to connect... I was so exited, it would be my first Thread product...
Thanks for the video, One question im running my cameras through NVR system brand by Dahua and i done the steps to configure the camera ui once it is done it is only showing the first camera only. later i tried to add by the camera IP it self and it functioning in the camera ui interface but in the prebuffering showing invalid for the second cam the first one which has been used the IP of the NVR working fine Valid so what is the best option to configure. and sorry for the long question im new to this world and im trying to learn. thanks again
I found the issue i logged in for each camera individually and adjusted the settings now all cameras working in Homekit app, I noticed if i add the camera in the camera ui it transfer direct to homekit. thanks for your videos
@@eddiedsuzaOther questions please for the Homebridge time zone how to sync it because the raspberry it match my time zone but the homebridge not i tried to search the web i didnt find how i can sync or edit the correct timing.
Thanks for the video but im stuck in the ssh stage when it will ask me for the password i enter it but always give me (Permission denied, please try again.) i flashed the memory with other password and the same issue im connecting the PI 5 with WIFI if you can guid me whats the issue to pass this stage.
Unfortunately, Wyze has not updated RTSP firmware past the V3 cam, making the PanCam v3 and any other future cameras incompatible with RTSP. Huge bummer for me since I invested in several of these cameras around the house and would love to put them into Homekit.
Hi Eddie, is this still the most recent way to install Scrypted on a Pi4? Or would you say that your Pi5 video wit Homebridge/Docker set up is a better way to get security cameras into HomeKit (which is the main thing I care about)? I am having issues update Scripted on my Pi4 as it gets stuck on the update when I hit update and restart in the management console. So was thinking of starting fresh. Or any idea how to solve the update issue?
I double checked and it's still the go to install on a Pi4 . You could use the Pi5 hardware and use Docker to install all the apps to maximize use and the hardware. If you do use docker - then make sure you also install watch tower to automatically update the docker containers.
