The PIR shown is used by many projects. I got a bunch of these to use for my ESPHome projects around the house, and all of them fail miserably, with false positives. Every few seconds with some of the sensors, to every few minutes for the better ones. If you search for this sensor, people complain about how useless they are, and the frustrations and waste of money. No amount of pull-up or pull-down resistors, added capacitors are going to fix it. I found a place they suggested to use the Panasonic EKMB or EKMC series PIR's. You can buy these from DigiKey or Mouser. They are a little more. I got some of them, and they work perfectly. The one I got said the data pin would be VIN minus half a volt. So for my ESP32, I powered it with 3.3 volts so I wouldn't overpower the data line to my ESP32. I would not buy the sensor listed for this project, substitute it with one of the Panasonic ones.
Wonderin when using a reed swtich how could you make it do when the reed switch goes from open to closed it also triggers the esp32 to turn on as would be great to have it trigger when the reed swtich changes state...any ideas ?
I need to do this at some point. My solar setup (tiny 12 volt batteries) must be off at night (draining from the controller, mostly) and my sister got some ideas where she lives.
The Arduino IDE software has changed slightly, please check our blog post for the updated instructions: randomnerdtutorials.com/esp32-mpu-6050-web-server/
Great video, but I have a question...can ESP32 communicate with 2 methods at once? for example like ESP 1 - ESP 2 with ESP-NOW, then ESP 2 - PLC with wifi communication...
Thank you for this video tutorial! I think building a PCB is way over my head for now but I would love to use these in my projects. Is there a link to this board or a comparable board that I could buy, ready-to-use?
Hello, Under Tools tab your programmer is set to "AVR ISP mkll" but I'm only getting the option "esptool". How can I solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated. And I'm getting an error "A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: No serial data received."
Hi. My IC's started to smoke when I inserted leds in to test the circuit. Not sure if you have any idea why, but I followed your instructions to point..
Awesome ! Can you please share how to send email to multiple recipients & what changes required in code. Awaiting your earliest response. Thanks & kind regards.
Hi, Followed your video and it works. The problem I encounter is that when I open my motor, I need to close it before I can open other device. I believe they should work simultaenously. Whats wrong with my circuit?
