Definitely his most satisfying win at least as a fan to watch with how dominant Nadal was on clay I’m glad fed was able to get at least one major at Roland Garros before he retired
Kinda funny to think that out of all the matches, the final was virtually the most one sided. Every other match Fed had to dig deep and get out of trouble. Honestly believe that even tho Nadal was out, it was one of the hardest tournaments he ever had to win.
This is the most difficult Wimbledon in the modern era. Murray at his best , Djokovic defending champion and number 1 , Federer in his last prime season. This Wimbledon proove that Federer is the best of all time on grass
Federer was knocked out of 21 Slams by Nadal and Djokovic, including 10 Finals. Hard to imagine how many more trophies he would have held if those two didn't exist.
The point is that Federer established such a record-breaking number of slam titles and the others spen years chasing after him and on improving their games to try toobtain his skills.
I'm a big Rafa fan but I'm so happy Roger got this title. I feel with his all-surface awesomeness, Roger deserved at least 2 FOs; he was so good that he made 5 FO finals but he had the misfortune of continually running into a fellow all-time great and the greatest player on clay in history, Rafa. Until I saw this video I didn't know what a nail-biting path Roger had to his 2009 FO crown: dropping 6 sets before the final, coming through 2 very tight 5 setters, playing 6 tiebreakers and winning 5, being a point away (against Haas) from being served out of the tournament in straight sets ... Roger really showcased his phenomenal movement, defence and heart in this tournament.
Im a huge rafa fan!! I actually had a thought in my mind that Alcaraz had a solid chance pulling a Rafa and winning RG this yr and be the same age as Rafa winning his 1st but wasnt meant to be. Hope he wins his 14th! And 22nd GS
Federer was down Big in Multiple Matches during this Tournament...Played his BEST when against the Ropes...Not sure how many Drop shots he hits during this Tournament but they were so Beautiful...
