I've had the pleasure to sing in the backup choir with Jaimee Paul at my church, FBC of Marion. This is one of my favorites songs she and Leif does. So amazing.
A pleasant reminder that we CAN, we MUST, respect each other and worship together. Christ Church Nashville was honored to have been blessed by Maurice's spirit and love.
I wonder if we could return to this way of dissolving any of the social barriers, either real or imaginary all over the world, by ignoring the "race baiters" out there, and using as our example the struggle of the black folk to overcome the horrible injustice perpetrated against them by the firmly entrenched institution of slavery in the white south. But we're not there anymore. This is 2015. Praise God! King Jesus The Messiah taught, and The Apostle Paul preached, " We are "neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond or free." Is anybody listening? This message transcends just racial struggles. We've all been set free long ago from every form of bondage or oppression! I “got over” when Jesus - The Chain Breaker - saved me from myself. "Glory Hallelujah!!"
Fantastic! Jazzy and spiritual! The trumpet mute mimics a skilled harmonica sound! Jaimee has a wayfaring cry in her voice that comes out wonderfully in this song.
If the spiritual emotions brought about from this gathering doesn't move you toward the Holy Spirit then you may need to ask the question, “Do I need a spiritual resurrection?” which is a nice way of saying, “Am I spiritually dead inside?”.
I was there, I cried also, not because the Colonel's words were true but because his claim that God created him to be a warrior is so harmful to the cause of Christ in the earth. I have a blog article for the Colonel. I have not met him, I would like to and I would love to debate him on his theology. I wrote my personal thoughts on this day doctormikegarner.blogspot.com the article is titled 'Created to be a Warrior'.
Maurice Carter was my first cousin. This memorial service was a powerful testimony of how a person living for God can have a great impact. Maurice, "Well done thy good and faithful servant ..."
