A Toronto-native and fashion school graduate, I started on the internet in 2010 DIY-ing and thrifting. *DJ disc scratch* Now I've bought my first home with my high school sweetie, and we're stubbornly DIY-ing our way through renovating our 70s fixer upper. With his trades background, and me in part time woodworking school, we’re here to show the real ups and downs of designing and making over the home, with some furniture upcycling and DIY home decor along the way. We’re not afraid to experiment with colour in our modern eclectic interior style, with a nod to the retro decor of past eras (sans shag carpet).
I followed your instructions to a T and the result is great. I purchased a synthetic bristle SLANTED brush on amazon. The slant helped get into tight places. Thank you for this tutorial.
Surgery now is my dream.. I have suffered a lot, cant work, everything hurt when i pee, poop even in ordinary days idont have my period. During my period, that excruciating pain i dont even know how to describe it , i cant even talk and im passing out, i feel very weak and helpless. Surgery is an option but the thing is its very expensive for me, coz i cant even work.. also my only son depends on me. Im on my depressing state, thinking the unthinkable. Im already exhausted from pain..and feel useless. Just thinking my son still needs me.
🥹 SO happy for you. As I watched I thought: this is great. I’m not building a shed and I don’t have my first home yet, but I can cheer her on. I have no idea what it feels like to be with my heart’s dreams, so I imagine I would feel ecstatic and supported. And I’m so happy you have support and you believe in yourself 👏🏽 Perfection ✨
OMG! Don't you hate it when you sit down to study and then the dreaded yawn of tiredness comes around as soon you open your textbook. 😂 I am so happy you're doing a great job in trade school. 🥰Hope you had a great time on your vacation and I hope your mom had the best birthday while y'all were on vacation.
So did you pass your close in exam? I'm sure you did, and I'm so happy that you are really enjoying your carpentry course. And you will absolutely be able to install the bidet, just go for it!
Wait when did you get a tattoo? Why does your classmate have all those coconuts?... Happy belated birthday to your mom!! I wish i could pivot my career and get into construction but i seriously suck at math :(
I got it in July!!! I also seriousllyyyy suck at math, but there are lots of tricks that get you an accurate dimension without needing to read off a measuring tape!
It's so nice to see you enjoying school~ I've been a fan since your thrifting videos and it's honestly so cute to follow your life. Thanks for this cute video! I hope to see more!
@letitiakiu Btw I've been on such a similar journey in recent months (going back to school, among other big life changes). It was so wonderful to find your content and see you fully enjoying life despite all you've been juggling! Just want to say we appreciate you sharing life's ups and downs and lessons with us, no matter the time between videos - you're out there living + learning!
"We're just two big kids that bought into the market at a good time" .. great summary! Also, I found you through a video where you were looking at apartments in NY.
Loved this video! I am also a crazy noodle person. For those of us in the US...I really like Target's Brightroom line of pantry bins. The plastic ones with white lids. They're more square which I think is better for stacking + maximizing space. The cereal bins can hold a whole bag of flour! Also Letitia, your new little noodle pot is adorable but consider also getting a Korean aluminum pot for noodles since it heats up so fast!
As a fellow Sarah who recently moved back to the US from living in Taiwan (in Xindian, too 🥹) for almost a decade, I felt so nostalgic watching this! I seriously miss the delicious food (especially the fan tuan "breakfast burrito" you showed being made), the super speedy trains, the lush greenery, the friendly people . . . sigh, I can't wait to go back again someday.
It truly was stressful! The unfortunate realities of renovating your own home are the infinite timelines. But I’ve tidied it up nearly completely after last years work!
I looove this. I have a 1981 house that.. doesn’t have much of any character inside other than my fireplace. But I am trying to lean into 70s a bit with my renos so that it feels appropriate to the era.
You should’ve had a safety tie on. Your a tiny person and one wind gust could’ve blown you off. Sorry just a Mom thing ❤😊Not trying to be rude. It’s still very impressive what you’re doing!
Maybe there’s something like this in the U.S.! My ex husband, myself & friends built our 3800sq ft two story house in Alaska. I even learned to wire (but forgot since that was in 2022 😂😂😂 We used styrofoam blocking/cement poured. I had to redo the space markers so many times because they were set in backwards the first time(not by me) then I was told the incorrect spacing 🙄🤬 All in the mean time Mom duty of our 3 & 4 yr old children. He Never helped with My kids 😢 he was the father but I was expected to just do it all & I did. *sigh*
This was so fun to watch!!! THE SPICE PULL OUT DRAWER, THE PARCHMENT PAPER CUTTER AND THE BOWL ORGANIZATION PEGBOARD I was wowing every time you pull out a drawer!!!
