I’m glad Rox is no longer on the team. They were fully responsible for what happened as they did it. But I think Qwel was indirectly and directly complicit in this situation as well, and I strongly agree that Qwel should be questioned and should have at least temporary layoff from Roblox development. My concern around Qwel, focuses on the fact that the LACK of legal and/or ethical concerns weren’t a priority nor was something was shown to be of high importance during this whole thing from them. If you know someone who is a child predator or someone who is associated with a similar situation, you should ALWAYS take it serious and be AWARE of it. This isn’t a movie, it’s real life. If you lack a response or concern of safety for whoever is involved; SUCH AS inquiring whether the claims are true or not, inquiring whether there is evidence or not, and inquiring if people involved in the situation are safe - then there is something fundamentally wrong with your state of humanity. We used to be on such high alert for children’s safety, for community safety, for advocating for health and well-being. Think of the advocacy of anonymous police reports, Chris Hansen, WWYD TV shows… Being able to inquire if minors safety are at risk, especially with an adult who works on a game CATERED TOWARDS THE VERY YOUTH, should have happened here. What if another situation like this occurs God forbid, or something else like this worsens in a situation? It is obvious that feasible options exist: confronting, making a police report, reporting to Roblox/discord staff is one of the first things that cross our minds - we are not born stupid with no resources. We have these resources to help others. Literally should it be common sense?? I mean cmon we can easily have a thought cross our minds about taking action or inquiring about the safety of minors. There is not a high chance throughout the situation that not inquiring or being concerned for minor safety, wasn’t a thought that popped up in their minds. We are taught in school about being safe as kids, we read news daily, we have heard predator stories. Thinking about doing the right thing should be muscle memory. It isn’t holding someone to a high standard. Being a predator and being indirectly complicit is definitely not a high standard or being human 💀 SAFETY SHOULD TRIUMPH MAKING A GAME. Why is a game more important than minor’s safety? Lmfao Something is not adding up because even as a sane adult, you hearing someone you personally know is being involved with minors will set off an alarm. It should be very very hard to convince you to not take action or to think otherwise regarding, inquiring concern, and protecting minors. Very few things can make you think opposite… I wonder why action wasn’t taken by said person. Maybe folks are saying Roc fully manipulated Qwel which FULLY prevented the help of minors. This is very very suspicious considering the fact that it would be very hard to convince someone out of another state of mind to not inquire or to not be indirectly complicit in the exploitation and predation of minors (considering Qwel was actually aware of it). Additionally, something is not making sense - could there be another reason why Qwel did not speak up on the matter? Were they afraid of the game loosing popularity? Or perhaps they didn’t want to be involved with legal matters (which even so why??)? Again the safety of minors should triumph everything. You should want to be a sound and critically thinking person as it’s not hard to have care for minor safety, so there should be reflect on their delay or lack in response. I haven’t seen a public explanation or apology to the minors about the delay in response or lack of response on their social media… again why? That is something also that makes me wonder about this whole thing. This is why I think something isn’t adding up here - why Qwel lacked a response before and after the math, and during it, they did not take action upon hearing such as severe and serious situation. Also edit: info from twt and these comments that Qwel defended Rox at one point? Lots of people on twt recognize the same thing and of course lots of other people in the comments 🙏
