My Vauxhall dealer told me I have a leak on the tank and it will need replacing. I've looked at it and can't see or feel any damp and don't seem to be losing any coolant. They quoted £164 , they reduced it to £120 when I said it was too much. Think I'll do it myself as I've seen tanks for sale on the internet for about £20
Thanks Mike. Have you ever come across the Power button's red light being completely dead. Tape and CD function will actually operate, but the Power Amp, Power button, Speakers, etc. are all completely toast.
@@Ap01101969 The standby signal is only 4.9 Volts, not the 6.7 shown in your video. The standby signal is 0V before I press play on the Tape or CD. Does this mean the PSU is not putting out enough?
man, you have soldered blak-red wire on terminals of super capacitor C810 0.1F, so if power falls, the super capacitor C810 drain faster with additional current consumption of BT module and so you lose out faster the FM stations; or I am wrong ?
Brilliant video, thank you!! Did you find any air pockets with your change? My coolant has gone down a little bit since doing the same as this video - does the air work it’s way out driving normally even with the cap on?
Thank you. The coolant will get pumped round the circuit whilst the engine is running, so I would expect any air to find its way into the expansion tank quite quickly. Make sure you top it up if needed.
What a brilliant video helped me alot I've ordered a new coolent tank as was on a 2 hours journey away from home and I've noticed my tank has a crack and steam is actually coming through this crack 😳🤣
I think this may be a common issue, as I have discovered many fractures in the underside of my tank, slowly losing coolant. I dont suppose you have a video on removing the rear spoiler to replace the washer jet???
Thank you for the detailed information below, however before fitting this switch circuit to my sony cmt-cp505md my schematic shows a different configuration, with only upto 5v rather than 6.9v. Will the same transistors and resistor values still work? The L and R standby circuit also doesn't seem to be identical either. As this hifi has a digital and optical line in (with the MD built in) to avoid DRM, I'm intending to hook into analog line in instead. Many thanks in advance. Tim.
Hi Tim, I'm not familiar with your model of HiFI, but I would think the same value components should work. The resistor values are not critical, provided they drive the transistors into saturation. If you have any problems, you could always reduce the value of R1 by 1k or so, but I doubt this will be necessary.
@@Chef2866 it's just what a builder advised me as, in a building of this age, the brickwork may not be particularly sound. Probably more of a precaution than a necessity.
Hi Dan, No, to replace all the coolant you will need to drain the radiator, either by disconnecting the bottom hose or undoing the drain plug if the radiator has one.
Yes, there was a definite crack on the underside of the tank, and it was losing a fair bit of coolant. It later transpired that I had a small leak in the radiator too so not sure how much loss was due to each.
I just found one of these in the street a few blocks over with a label on it saying, "perfectly working". I watched a chunk of your video on the street in the dark and it helped me to decide to bring the machine home.
Great video! I have a question tho...I asked my mechanic if I could change it myself and he said the coolant system needs be pressurised or something ( I am not an expert so I don't know if this is a thing ) . It will cost me around £40 with new coolant . On your video it looks like I can easily do it myself . Did you have to do anything extra after the tank was replaced ? Thanks in advance
I'm no mechanic, but not aware that the cooling system needs to be pressurised. Perhaps they meant it should be pressure tested when the tank is changed? The cap contains an integral pressure relief valve to prevent too much pressure building up in the system when hot.
@@soton1989 I'm sure if you do it yourself, it will be fine, but to be honest, if a mechanic can replace the tank and the coolant for £40, you're probably unlikely to save much by doing it yourself.
Thanks for the help, your video was very detailed. I upgraded the same Sony model to bluetooth, only with a different type of bluetooth module. Good luck finding this video on the net. Thanks again and RESPECT!
I did this on the lg f1406tdsp6 around 2013 i'm doing it again this month on the actual same machine! a testament to the DD motor and control panel which have been faultless, I used SKF bearings last time around and will be doing so again along with a new tub seal AND new tub dampers. i just use the same tools on the tub bearings that I use to change my wheel bearings on the motorcycle. BTW impeccable work and filming. Bravo
Ah yes, I decided to increase the value of R1 (by adding another in series) to minimise the current drawn from the STBY signal on the mainboard. It wasn't strictly necessary, but just a precaution as I didn't know how much current the STBY signal could provide. The resistor values are not critical, as long as they drive the transistors into saturation and make them switch on.
What are the exact values of the resistors, i understand that 15K, 1k and 4m but does it matter in terms of % or MW, and could a 4.3M Ohm be used instead of 4M Ohm. Thank you.
Hi, I downloaded the manual from www.manualslib.com/manual/701033/Sony-Hcd-Cp1.html - it's the HCD-CP1 manual rather than the CMT-CP1, but the internals are much the same.
A pretty quiet video but really well done! $1400 for a new washer, $600 for a repairman to fix it or about $50 in parts and I try it. Based on your great video, I can do it!
Would be interested to know how you prepared the base for the poured concrete section of the hearth...also the room section with the brick surround sub-floor
Hi Mike. I have a very similar stereo (CP11) that maybe you can help me to find out something. Is better to disconnect the stereo off the electricity when is not in use? Or just turning it off is enough? Sorry that my question doesn't have anything to do with the video, but I'm wondering that because those are very old machines and I don't want something to burn out like a cap or something. Also, I'm dumb as a brick :(
Hi Loco, all I know is that the circuitry in the stereo is still "live" when it's in standby. Mine has lasted over 20 years on standby without a problem, but disconnecting from the mains will save electricity.
Hi have a sony cmt nez33 doesnt turn on once i try to fix the tape belt can I only remove the strip wire and put it as it is. Now the system is completely dead can u help
