So... the moral of the story is if you follow leaders who are driven by their emotions and play to the lowest intellect you wind up dead. I wish Disney still had that edge.
The message I got from this story is to take everything you hear with a grain of salt. There’s nothing wrong with listening to others, just don’t do it blindly and instantly believe everything they say.
The comic adaption misses the point of the story, by having Foxy lose due to a deus ex machina. Telling kids, "don't worry, random happenstance will prevent you from facing the consequences of your actions."
I know that people are always getting tired of the good guys always winning but to be honest this honestly feels kind of dark to me, even if the trope is tiring. And I know this is going to be very controversial, but I actually feel kind of bad for all those chickens, even chicken little. 😢 (Bright Side: Funny Commentary at the end 9:28 )
I found a letter from Walt Disney thanking my uncle for his contribution building Disneyland. I think he had something to do with landscaping. His name was Dewey Kruckeberg.
Most kids stuff is so sanitised now. There are bad people who’ll take advantage of you and having a happy ending all the time gives them a false sense of security
This video is really trying to censor this, but this reminds me very much about what happened in 2020 surrounding a certain cold that wasn’t that deadly and people getting a treatment in their arm that didn’t do anything to help them except shorten their life expectancy and give them a whole host of horrific health problems. And the endless lies we were told about this whole thing from politicians and from the “news.”
"To influence the masses, aim first at the least intelligent." "If you tell a lie, don't tell a little one. Tell a BIG one." "Undermine the faith of the masses in their leaders." Just in case anyone still doesn't get it, this cartoon has inadvertently become an allegory for trump and the MAGA cult.
@@tonycanabal1659 Oh definitely that. As well as that final Screwball Squirrel cartoon. I mean sure that squirrel was always an asshole and finally got his comeuppance, but you have to admit that’s a pretty brutal way to go out in your final short film ever
What makes this even more morbid is the fact that Foxy is playing with Chicken Little's yo-yo. A toy from someone Foxy killed and ate. That's messed up.
I did not expect a multi-decade old Disney cartoon shorter than 10 minutes without a single bit of gore, jumpscares, or any sort of "horror" could send shivers down my spine, but, here we go.
Makes you wonder what happened when they got to the cave, did Foxie Loxie keep playing mind games with them to eat them easier or did he keep them captured and have them wallowing in fear as he ate all of them
The balls on Disney to make a cartoon with this kind of ending. Greatest Generation is right! Can you imagine present-day Disney putting this out today? It'd be sugarcoated or softened and loose all its edge.
Leonard Maltin: Chicken Little is one Disney cartoon that parents should see for themselves before deciding if it’s appropriate for their kids. Me: Excuse me? This is perfectly appropriate for kids! There’s nothing raunchy or gory in it, and it has an important lesson to teach! If anything, the movie version of Chicken Little is inappropriate for kids, because it teaches them that bullying is okay! What, is the short inappropriate because it doesn’t have a happy ending? Well, in that case, Old Yeller, the Rite of Spring segment of Fantasia, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow are completely inappropriate for kids because of the lack of a happy ending.
