Hi Alli! Yes, unfortunately that is the case with The Sims 4. I tried paralleling what I've seen in real life where retirement homes normally have a dining area, but a small (hotel-like) kitchenette if there is a need to cook basic meals or use the oven/stove for warming tea or baking a frozen meal, for example. You're welcome to add in counters or edit the kitchens any way you like!
Hi Linda! It's a bit tricky, normally I build the second staircase (on the second/above floor) beside the first staircase leading up (on the first/below floor). I ensure to delete the automatic walls the stairs create, and then use the pull arrows to drag the stairs into position above the original set. I hope this helps!

I was so excited when I saw you building my favourite Ghibli film! However, there's roughly 37 hours of stream and you aren't even done! Will you do a regular youtube video on this build with snippets of the progress once it's finished? I am trying to reduce my screen time and while gaming livestreams are soo cozy, I can't picture myself watching 40+ hours of stream for one build 😭😂 Anyways, props to your patience and dedication for this mega project!! 👏🏻

i would LOVE so much if you’d consider creating a home for the Realm of Magic sim L. Faba. nobody does builds for her 😭 but i think she’s really cool. she looks like some kind of fae and she’s the Sage of Mischief, i love her like whimsical goth pink faerie aesthetic. i would love to see like a romantic but mischievous silly dark gothic fairytale type castle or tower for her to live in. lots of black and white and purple and pink, maybe an underground cave and lair, vines, a cauldron built into a fireplace/oven in her kitchen for mac and cheese lol, a garden for poisonous and magic plants, rooms for her crystal ball and seances and tarot in the Life and Death pack, an area for gemology and the magical gameplay in that gem pack, an outside area with a sundial and place for leaving the gems and jewelry to charge in the moonlight, hidden rooms, pink kitchen with candies and the cupcake maker like the witch in Hansel and Gretel, a maze and rose garden with rabbits, an area for her pet unicorn (horse ranch 😄), a pet crow with new pack, etc. like a FULL fairytale evil queen/witch/fairy because that’s totally who L. is to me lol. and the castle would totally be cursed with gremlins because she is all about mischief and gremlins are also fae haha.
ooh and the lot could be off the grid too? like she’s this old immortal witch so she doesn’t even believe in technology, just magic. so she has like the outdoor laundry and candles and magic for lighting cuz you always do fun cool lighting! plus the gremlins would break technology, so she just never adapted to it
She is definitely an interesting character! I normally don't build for townies, but may consider L. Faba in the future. I do enjoy how she has some subtle (although not well rendered) East Asian or Southeast Asian heritage that I could tie into the house and design!
this is such a cool idea for a challenge, especially going the paranormal route you went! the rooms worked out perfectly too. a grody dining room where you can’t stomach the food you eat, a gremlin infested kitchen where they destroyed all your appliances so you can’t even cook, the dark bedroom filled with creepy crawlies so they crawl all over you while you sleep and can’t see what they are when you wake up, and the haunted bathroom so you have to see ghosts in the mirror and they visit you at your most vulnerable state, pants down, lmao. this house would truly be a nightmare to live in, i love it. totally wanting to play as a ghost of a spellcaster in this house that died from the curse so now they haunt the apartment and are trying to reborn with the new rebirth system or maybe they’re a reaper. speaking of that, i am suuuper excited to see what you could create for The N.W.D.D. (The Netherworld Department of Death) active career lot with the new pack! ❤ you put a lot of thought and creativity into these supernatural builds and you use the parts from different packs so effectively!
i love that you take the time and even consider having fun with the lighting, don’t see many builders doing that but it’s so important! it really adds to the atmosphere and you did so well with it - your lighting makes the place so warm and cozy and mystical feeling. and i love how simple the decorating style is, like looks pretty classic but also unique and interesting but kept very clean and simple. first time watching your channel and it’s off to a great start 😊 your commentary is super fun to listen to as well
and also just great ideas for the build! details like the wash up room for potion class, the hidden bookcase entrance to the headmistress’ private quarters, the rabbits that help gather resources for magic, and using those portals to lead to that magical arena! so cool! aaand the build looks so gorgeous at night in build mode with all the colors of the portals and the fun lighting
would be cool if for Halloween you revisited this build by making it functional with High School years, the high school lot type and classes and stuff 😁

There is one track on your background music and I don't knoiw why but it's giving me Christmas vibes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready for Christmas yet. Not at least until the start of November when Halloween is over as I love Autumn and Halloween and we are so lucky in the UK to have that proper Autumnal grey, dark, duey, warm tones, beautiful colours, windy rainy days like today and the smell which is so recognisable, iconic and unforgettable. It's a smell which just hits you as soon as you step outside. Feel very blessed I live in a country that gets to experience all four seasons :)

Oh my god, Townie. I love you so much. You ate absolutely great. Loved being there for one of your streams. Totally underated in my opinion and deserve a bigger fan base for sure. I tried building the Opera Populaire in Paris from Phantom of the Opera but im not a vwry good builder and im struggling. You'd be awesome at it. Do you do requests like that. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and sometimes (quite candidly) a lack of drive/motivation to complete a specific build that I may be unfamiliar with or not passionate about, I'm currently not open for requests. I am however open to build ideas in general however, like a medieval pub, abandoned warehouse, or a tropical spa, for example (more general builds with more freedom of interpretation). I hope this helps!
