This is great. R.I.P. Dermot. Also - given the culture of the times in that world, I wonder if he's just running on adrenalin alone here, he's pretty wired.
They mention Archbishop John Charles McQuaid - well we now know a lot more about him, with allegations of child abuse and his own covering up of child abuse in his Dublin archdiocese. He was also the man who when Irish television launched on 31st December 1961 told Telefis Eireann that since their studios was in his archdiocese, he had control over what should air. Telefis Eireann told him to piss off in more softer tones.
And there at 0:40 is the usual edit made by Channel 4, as they had a hard task of editing down a two hour show into a 52 minute highlights version for the British audience. We always missed out on a lot of The Late Late Show content and got the nuggets of it which would be familiar to us UK audience.
My Father would have started the ball rolling for me, he'd be playing stuff like Randy Travis and Christy Moore in the car, when the cars had cassette tapes and CD players built in
@@kennedyobrien1 , I love Christy moore , he excellent , I actually bought a boxset Christy moore in Limerick music Milkmarket. I like country music too, but I don't like Garth Brooks , I think he too overrated. I did like Randy travis Wilie Nelson and Glen Campbell.
@@axeljk1 Just to think that within 2 years of this, his health would deteriorate so badly that his heart just gave out and he died from a massive heart attack. Here in 1996 he looks fighting fit.
@@johnking5174you’d have to wonder if him making a blasphemous TV show had anything to do with it. Mock the Lord at your pearl. Hope it’s not too hot where he is now. RIP
I understand the 43 years in prison, but at least they could beat the shit out of him like a couple of times each day, no? Or at least every second day, to be reasonable and humane.
He's not getting out. After seeing this interview, and details of the recent parole hearing, I'm convinced he's not remorseful; he still thinks he's famous. No, let this fool wrinkle up and die in prison. I just want one request; keep his writings, under wraps, under the "Son of Sam" law. No one should make any profit, off any publicity generated, from a commission of a crime. His writings' only selling point, is that he was the man who'd killed John Lennon; otherwise, nobody is interested in his creative writings. Now, sit back and watch him slowly watch him blame Lennon; he made him do it...😡
He is as cookoo as can be. Scary. People like that should never be released. And sad that we have to pay taxes to pay for the confinement of people like this.
This dude is a sick man any deserves no voice! May he rot in prison forever, after taking away a man’s life, who was loved by millions, and millions of people!
As far rotting in prison goes, some people believe in taking it further and having someone on death row as well as guilty of other heinous crimes such as rape, human trafficking or being associated with the KKK, should used in medical experiments instead of helpless animals .
