Dual Strike is still very strong. For strength stacking Battlemage's Cry was changed so that was a bit of a nerf. I think a better version of the build might be Uberdan's endurance charge stacker version with Nebuloch. He plays as Jugg, able to facetank basically everything and uses Trauma support to help ramp damage - here is his old pob: pobb.in/JCPoABbWh8HW That gear might be extremely expensive with how many melee players will be around this league tho
Probably no new video but the skill tree might look something like this: pobb.in/QsmeA5FNyW3Q Just grab a few rage nodes and the new Max res and the build should feel tanky - Flat Life on rare gear is being buffed so Slayer leech should feel stronger. War Banner won't have reservation any more so you could squeeze in another aura possibly. You will also most likely have to run Lifetap on your main damage link with the increased mana costs this League unless you pick up a bunch of % reduced mana cost nodes which I'm not sure are worth it. You *might* have to pick up a few strike nodes to increase your aoe for clearing as well since we lose the old Ancestral Cry. Personally I'm going to play some form of Slammer with the new warcries - I think just about every melee skill should be viable now with the changes. Just keep in mind that while most melee skills were dramatically buffed, Boneshatter is losing somewhere between 10-20% dps now that we have no totems.
@@NeverJax thank you so much for the detailed reply!! This is going to be my first melee build so I don’t know what to play hahaha as such I wanted to go for a good old tried and true build!! I will probably follow something less experimental or build some jank cleave of rage build
You scale damage on both parts of the aura - so you benefit from the physical damage as extra (the spell is pure phys damage - and we scale a lot of flat damage with gem levels) - and then we're converting all to cold so we benefit from the more cold damage. This is why you see most phys builds convert to cold, since you don't get that much value with something like fire for example.
I'm curious, is there a reason why you're not taking up any Imaple nodes, such as Harpooner? I always thought impale was a huge damage boost for all physical chars.
Yeah you get Herald of Ash pops and have a decent chunk of increased area of effect on the tree. The clear feels decent - best in indoor layouts like Defiled Cathedral
The gear in this video was probably between 600-700 divs. You can probably make a “budget” version with about 30% less damage for a bit under half of that would be my guess
Oh... somehow my layout isn't accurate. You do want -2 explicit mods to force a 2 mod blue item with 2 fractures. I also noticed the layout is missing the influence corpse - don't forget that either :') I would just drop the preserve corpses for them
You can make cheap glass canon 100kk dps with this skill gem and farm up to tank version but at the point then you can gear up you are probably going to vomit of boss killing farm
I made a league start guide for Boneshatter Slayer - I'd recommend following that. You can switch to Dual Strike probably around level 90 and it would feel smooth if you have the gear ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jYUtCdSob1k.html
trying to understand how to craft the helmet, isn't it possible to start with a redeemer influenced base rather than warlord (it looked like thats what alk did, seems like the redeemer helms are cheaper), then you elevate mana efficiency on that and use awakener's orb to put the warlord acc mod on it. does the awakener orb guarantee the acc mod when you do that though?
You can start with either - you just need to make sure that you have 1 of each elevated mod with no other influenced mod. When you awakener orb make sure to keep the fractured base, and the result will always be a helmet with your fractured life, strength, and both of your elevated mods. The risky part of this craft is that your prefixes have a small chance to fill up preventing you from finishing the item
Not sure if Dual Strike of Ambidexterity is the best skill choice here as the only thing you get out of this skill is the offhand attack time since your main weapon literally has no base damage for the %more damage with main weapon. If attack speed is your main concern of this build, you could simply use Double Strike of Momentum...
Paradoxica doubles the flat damage being added from your boots - and then that gets further amplified from the Dual Strike of Amidexterity gem - it's definitely the strongest combo for melee at the moment and most likely going to get nerfed a bit next league
@@criticap-jo9dl That is how it works though. Alberon's adds flat damage to attacks - which Paradoxica doubles, which then gets multiplied the skill gem. The same interaction works with Ephemeral Edge's flat added lightning damage which is another popular variant of the build
Don't go for broke trying a str stacker. If you really want to try it out go for the Champion variant first. This has a higher gear ceiling than the champion but needs more investment to get going.
@@omeririk00 True - can try Champion with Impale scaling (Impale chance paradoxica + Watcher's eye) - will be a bit squishier + slightly less damage but it should be a good starter version
The damage is so high that clear is still great - but it is melee so it isn't super fast on the open maps. It does well for clearing T17s since they are all mostly 'hallway' style. Since it's Slayer it can't run a lot of damage mods though in hardcore at least.
I think tainted is better on slayer, but this league with graveyard gear a lot of people are wearing eternal damnation amulet + a high armor chest and getting suppress cap with the new tattoo added back in - eternal damnation will allow you to tank a lot of endgame boss abilities combined with a xibaqua glorious vanity and leech through them
You can play Urgent Orders instead with Ancestral Cry, also with mana reservation on helmet + life mastery that convert 30% of mana to hp cost, with only automation 20% quality should cost around 18 mana.
