I'm very interested in this particular guy because of its wide nut (48mm) but I haven't found any specs on the neck thickness. I like thin necks like an Ibanez wizard. Any replies appreciated.
@@MilanoGuyTexas from what I remember it's a comfortable neck, pretty "average" size for an acousitc guitar neck and definitely not as thin as an Ibanez wizard. I think it is a C type neck and by the way the nut is 43mm.
@@XrexO-g3u thanks! I'd say that a shift register works in a different way, but you are probably seeing similarities with mode A (delay), while Mode B does not behave like a delay.
Hi Daniele, thanks for the demo! I just ordered one for my modular system. I was looking since a while for a mixer with the ability to overdrive/distort my signals and this seams exactly what I need!
@@DanieleGiannattasio this is the point... I am in small town and we don't have music shops around. I can not try it. Actually I am piano player and don't understand too much from guitats. That's why I'm asking you...
Sounds great! But 2 things: No filter envelope control? That's an important part! Would you have to supply that externally into the cutoff CV along with triggers? And also, the triangle oscillator seemed a bit out of tune with itself
If you are asking about the filter envelope because of the 303, this module is not a clone and has nothing to do with the 303, but it has that "acid" character. Regarding the tuning, that's my fault :) I accidentally touched something in the back of the module and didn't notice until I started editing the video. Now I got it recalibrated!
Data Bender and then I added some reverb in post, probably a plugin I can't remember. It sounds like a lot of reverb but I don't think it was more than 10%
@@DanieleGiannattasio I have a small rack and am looking for a VCO to upgrade with. I am very much a low budget kind of user with no modules with expensive processors. For the size this looks like the beast for me. Thanks.
Over 2 years of using it everyday, zero issues. I'm no expert but it seems obvious to me that if the wires are isolated it's fine, but just to make sure I asked the experts and they said no problem!

Great demo. Just so I'm clear, for a basic subtractive patch you would go VCO - Filter - Airstreamer, and then ENV out from Airstreamer to filter cutoff and it would also affect VCA level for incoming audio? Even demo I have watched skips this patch so not sure it can do that as I'm imagining. thanks
Thanks! The Airstreamer 4 is not a "regular" VCA, just to make it clear that you don't patch the audio coming from the filter into the Airstreamer. It is an envelope generator (among other things) with a built-in VCA that, together with the knob, lets you scale and invert the envelope. Keeping that in mind, sure you can use the Airstreamer 4 as an envelope to control the filter cutoff and scale and offset it with the AMP knob / VCA input. Then the audio output of the filter would go to the next module
@@DanieleGiannattasio thanks for the clarification. It’s a fantastic module if I had an extra vca. I’ll have to look at the sinc bucina or a used javelin. Cheers
I might as well ask here, since I dont know where else. I'm making a DIY synth that only needs +12 -12, no 5v required i would absolutely use this power supply, but after looking at the datasheet, it has really low amp ratings for the -12 rail, like half an amp. (then i would need multiple of these to make the full thing) does anyone know a good alternative with higher amp ratings?
Sorry I can't help with the choice of another PSU, but I know that this one can deliver up to 3,5A at +12V and 1A at -12V lines as long as it can "borrow" the extra power from the 5V line. You may try asking on Mod Wiggler, where I'm sure more people will be able to help you quickly.
Putting that Hi up most of the Way with any Reverb will make the Signal Ring too much and actually Sound Annoying 😕 Try keeping the Hi at around 11:00 O'Clock or Lower. 🎵🎶🙏
@@rayderrich In my opinion it is quite affordable considering the amount of sounds and effects, so I would get one! You can probably find it used for even less.
I rather get one new from the folks who made it, they want to get rid of them ;-) And I agree from what I have seen so far that it does a lot for the money.
Mine worked just for some three months flawlessly. Then, the display began to show pixel mayhem in the upper left corner. Once occured, the malfunction was getting worse every day. The good is, the folks at Erica Synths seem to have excellent service. They sent me a replacement immediately after I've sent the defunct module to them, so our parcels have most likely seen each other somewhere halfways between Latvia and Germany. Blitzschnell! Here's where quality means service. By the way, thank your for your great video!
Text only videos can be mentally exhausting to watch. It requires so much more focus since I am not only paying attention to what you're doing with the module, but also trying to read text as it pops up. I would suggest making the text a little bigger and leaving it on the screen much longer. I had to rewind several times and it's frustrating. Or just talk and improve your videos even more IMO since it frees up the eyes from 2 simultaneous duties. Unless there is a reason you can't speak of course (such as using translators). Just my opinions/suggestions for what it's worth. Nice looking module tho. I'm definitely interested.
Also, doing it this way takes so much more time. One day I might switch to talking, then someone will complain about my accent or talking over the sounds :) so for now I think I keep the sentences short enough and I try to simplify things, avoiding long and complex explanations, so it should be pretty easy to understand most of the time. Actually lots of people told me they like my short and straightforward no talking demos, I guess it's a matter of preferences. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@DanieleGiannattasio haha so true! You can never please everyone. I would just say at a minimum keep the text up longer. Then I don't have to be laser sharp waiting for the next time texts pops up and I can read it in time so I don't feel like I missed important info.
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried but 10 minutes of that was a little fatiguing to my ears and I wanted to use something different than synth sounds this time.
I'm a bit confused can you add to the descriptions for what it is actually doing to the sound source, I'm assuming its controlling VCAs for Level and the Panning??
Thanks, you post very good content as well! Yes, it's a great module, I didn't go through all the possibilities it opens up in a system, but you can imagine al the cool things you could do with it!
This is how imagined Tides worked when I was still new to modular and figuring out what everything did. I love Tides and have two of them, but it's cool that my original naive expectations are also being met.
