Just took this today. Started off well but the sea was very rough. Before long there were people vomiting everywhere and some lying on the ground. The bathroom looked like a nightclub bathroom at 3am! I was in business class so I don’t know what state the standard class was in. Will take the plane next time! Great video though 😊
Thanks for the video. I stayed there for 5 days and it was a great way to get over the jet lag. I could take a hot bath or steam at any time and the free curry rice in the mornings was tasty. The lockers were secure and the other guys were quiet so I could sleep during the day.
Hey there! Sure, the embarkation process is very simple. You have to pass through immigration with a passport and some very light security stuff like at and airport, but not nearly as intense. As far as the luggage, there is a upper weight limit but our luggage was never weighed and overall they did not seem too worried about anything like that. There is no “checked luggage” so as far as I can tell, if you can carry it yourself within reason, you can probably take it on board. Hope this helped!
After 2 years of deadly riots, lock downs, tear gas, and state sponsored terrorism, in Portland Oregon (Buasn's Sister city,) at 2:45, I found your "Inflatable Blue Lives Matter" description pretty very humorous. As for the train, At first I was going to say it reminded me of a '0' Sires Shinkansen journey from the 80's, but it didn't seem as advanced, as clean, well maintained or refined. Actually, I sensed it might be more like an American Amtrak train from the distant future.
I was actually on the fence about that line to be honest as it is quite a sensitive subject but I am glad I left it in and I am glad you got some enjoyment from it. And yes, with all due respect to Korea and their high speed rail system, I cannot honestly claim that it is on the same level as Japanese Shinkansen although to be fair, that is quite a high standard to be compared to. I've heard Portland has had a rough time of it the last few years and seen much footage online to back up those claims. I pray that Portland and the world at large comes to its senses soon.. anyways I hope you have a nice day and thank you for the comment Jack.
@@Albietraveling Thank you very much for the kind comments and exceptional videos, I very much enjoy them. I think most people would like you "Inflatable Blue Lives Matter" comment, I shared a link to that part of the video to friends who are former Police Officers and one, a retired police officer found it funny but too often true. What I enjoy most about your videos are the comments, as they are very much like what friends from Japan and Malaysia I used to travel with had fun joking about. Having spent time in Korea, the KTX train was pretty much what I expected. Overall, I would say the Shinkansen is the best high speed train system in the world, but that does cost more. Given the choice to take the KTX for $60 or Shinkansen for say $200, as much as I would rather go green car in the Shinkansen, I would likely choose price over the better quality and experience. Thank you for the kind wishes about Portland. If anything, maybe Portland should serve as an example to other cities. in how in just a few years it went from the #1 most desirable city in America, to almost the worst. Hopefully Portland will return to what it was, but for now I think it's best if I leave here. I used to be a producer for a news net work, and have posted some videos of Portland during that time on my channel. For now I think I would prefer living in Japan over America, but a long-term visa seems difficult. After watching your, Queen Beetle ferry video I have been thinking about returning to Fukuoka and maybe trying to do visa runs to Busan, but not sure how long Japan Immigration would allow that. I'm also considering going back to Malaysia, or possibly trying Turkey. .
Me and my friends are planning a trip to Japan and Korea. Is possible to fly into Japan then take a ferry to South Korea? Is there a time limit to how long you can stay in Korea after entering by boat?
Hey there. You can indeed take a ferry from Japan to South Korea (depending on where in Japan you are) and the amount of time you can stay in Korea after entering by boat is the same as entering by plane. Have a nice trip!
Most people typically fly into Tokyo or Osaka. They are a long Shinkansen ride to Fukuoka…. Which is the closest ferry ride to Korea. Be aware that you land in Busan. Busan to Seoul is another ktx train ride. Take a look at a map. Ive just recently did a similar trip over 30 days in both countries.
Excellent! Very astute your analogy of strolling from Hades, through purgatory and into heaven. Grand class was lovely and the feeling of being a "king in a castle" setting on his throne was just how I recall feeling on a Grand Class trip I took from Tokyo to Hakata in the last century on a brand new double-deck Shinkansen 100 sires with the big picture windows and a huge, overstuffed gold recliner chair. it was the inaugural trip of that train so they had a few dignitaries and reporters on board, special food and drinks and souvenirs, it was the most comfortable magical and memorable trip I ever took, after 6 hours I wished it was longer.
Tokyo to Hakata is quite the route but I’m sure being in gran class made it a walk in the park. Sounds like you had a nice experience. Hope you get a chance to come back to Japan and experience it again! Thanks for enjoying the video and for all the comments☺️
Wow! Quite impressive and thanks for taking us along. Very well documented, was it only you, the crew, and a handful of other passengers? Also, are you based out of Kyushu? I spent time in Kyushu many years ago and videos like this leave me a bit homesick for Japan and I look forward to enjoying more of your travels.
thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed my videos. Usually it is just me but sometimes my pregnant wife tags along. I am based out of Tokyo but I do love me some Kyushu. Thanks again!
Loving these boat travel reviews! I don't see that many on other channels but they are my favorite genre, and I love how you take extra care to review all the passenger experiences you can. Can't wait for the special korea episodes!
I feel like your channel will expand really quickly. Your personality shines thru the videos and gives a lot to those of us in the US but I can see it would work just as well for several countries and cultures. I expect in a year you will be quite successful on this channel. Keep going and best wishes.
I believe this is one of the main reasons why these kind of hotels cannot have individual locks. Every capsule hotel will have its own standards of safety but in general Japan takes safety and security very seriously. I do, however, understand the sentiment. It would not be fun to be in this facility if God forbid a fire were to break out.
These little sightseeing/luxury trains are actually growing in popularity here in Japan as well. This train started service fairly recently. Hopefully more and more services open up.
Fabulous, as always…although it irritated me mildly that they didn’t substitute your scallop! Secondary annoyance aside, I love the trains in Japan and have been happy to see them reinvigorating travel through innovative coats of paint. I’d love to see you do Seven Stars…start saving?
Thank you so much! Actually its my fault that I was busy filming and didn't check the menu closely enough and I realized it was seafood only once the plate was already in front of me. I just let one of my companions eat my portion instead of troubling the staff at that point. Japan does have some amazing trains. I would love to do Seven Stars one day.. thats the dream.. and one day it's going to happen!
No idea how this channel has so few subs when it has the quality of similar channels that have millions of subs. You have such funny and charming narrations, I hope you keep making content even though it's a lot of work!
Thank you so much! I only just started this channel less than three months ago but like you said it is surprisingly time consuming! But nonetheless, I really appreciate your comment. I am working on the next video right now and it should be uploaded within a few days so I hope you enjoy that as well!
I see! That would make sense because this hotel company literally has a chain of hotels (apart from this one) that is called "Bali An". Thank you for the insight!
The curtains and the cube's doors are probably Bali's handcrafts too. It is an island of my country. I guess the owner of the hotel has a correlation with Bali.
I am 5 foot 11, and there was room to spare so I think 6 feet should be no problem. maybe beyond 6 foot 5 inches or so one might begin to find it a bit uncomfortable
Even in a group of 3 or 4 you could probably get that many cabins and definitely that many capsules for as much as much or less than one low quality US motel room in my area (which is good for about 2-4 people depending on how comfortable you are with sharing a bed). Plus with all the free stuff you get it's probably a much better experience. Not to mention this place is actually clean and modern while most bad motels look like bedbug infested crack houses.
it’s definitely a compelling alternative to standard budget lodgings, and yes the fact that it is kept meticulously clean is absolutely critical in my opinion
Someone kindly share this with L.A.'s new mayor, Karen Bass. Build one of these for the homeless. This should be a thing in every town where they exist.
As someone originally born and raised in LA I have thought about this as well. However, you cant discount the fact that there are virtually zero fentanyl addicts in Japan.
Unfortunately, the difference in culture would see it destroyed in a week. There is a reason nobody worries about putting locks on the screen door in Japan.
