Cut out the seed cluster and throw it with a water in the mixer. Mix a few second at slow speed and clean the seeds with water. Including cleaning the mixer you will need less than 5 minutes. Works with tomato too. Better dry seeds in the shadow.
If you want more airflow don't plant basil around your eggplant. Eggplants are perennials so this one isn't near the end of it's life. Seams to be in it's first year so it can ger much older.
I like your honest transparency. I am a novice, live in Sandbaai Hermanus South Africa. Transplanted my lemon tree from a pot to the ground and it looks very unhappy,
Hey, very nicely explained. Would you keep your content(videos) consistent? I would subscribe to your channel if that's a yes! Best wishes from India 🇮🇳
Good tips, thank you. A little late but for anyone new here, if you're going to try vaseline, you will also need to do the bases of the trellis supports and anything else touching the plant because literally everything is a highway for ants.
I bought 2 of the 6-in-1 tall beds and was trying to decide if the nuts should be on the outside in case the panels need to be snugged up after the bed is filled or as years go by. Searched the Birdies site, watched three other YT videos, but no answer until I found your video. Thanks for stopping me putting the nuts outside! And I'm sure the tip about the edging will come in handy also. :)
What is the most effective way to protect Birdies garden beds from gophers? We usually need hardware cloth, but not sure how to attach it to these metal planters.
I've the same issue so here's what I plan to do. I'm not attaching the wire to the metal. I'll get my site level and ready with drainage in place. Last thing is to tack down the galvanized hardware cloth to match the bed's foot print. The weight of the soil will anchor the bed in place. It's not moving. I'll mulch around the bed's bottom so any wire beyond the frame will be safely covered. I'm filling a tall bed so there will be a lot of soil mass. If anyone has any ideas to add, I'm open to suggestions.
We put gopher netting down 6-8" outside the bed with garden stakes. Then cardboard then fill bed. Beds have been in now 6 months and Yesterday I finally heard gophers trying to get into the bed from underneath. Sounded like they were trying to rip through. I will report back if anything negative happens! The bed next to it doesnt have gopher netting. Hoping it doesnt dind it!
I got vego garden beds. They look exactly the same. LOVE mine! Mine is 4x10 ft...17 inches deep...I bought two for 400$. They were on sale..I think they are regular 250 each, 🤷🏻♀️
So nice you explain how to assembled them I did mine with many mistakes I did not took the plastics out, put the middle brackets upside down, I tried to put screws with the electric drill but it hurt my hand tied too hard the screws it twist my hand, I put black plastic in the bottom. I will know how to do next one thank to you video.
I've got a question regarding compost some people say don't put any in the hole it will kill the roots and other people say put compost in the hole I'm a beginner wtf do I do I'm a little confused
It’s best to only top dress plants with compost. Too much organic material (within the root system)will become anaerobic and cause root rot when too wet. Also if compost is not done it will compost the roots. Laguna Hills nursery in California has videos on this. The guys name is Gary. His videos are very long but informative.
Personally I add a little to the soil and mix it in. @innerjon is right where it can damage the roots, but my soil is usually so hard that mixing in a bit of compost can loosen up the soil and improve it's quality. So if you're soil is good then don't risk it, however if your soil quality is horrible to begin with then I feel it's beneficial to mix some in with the soil.
Yes, it’s suggested for safety...so he can’t be held responsible IF someone hurts themselves. It’s the world of lawsuits we live in. But they are not required. 🤷🏻♀️
Awesome video thank you!!! My Japanese eggplants are turning yellow and die, not purple like they have been. Maybe the plant is too cold??? Or just they are sick
Hello , same problèm hère. Mine were purple, then tuning greenish , and then yellow . When I cut a little one of thèm : only seeds . I live in thé carribean any suggestion please?
Yes, you're right, that'd work. After filming this I fixed them all, just kept it looking bad as an example. They're great beds so far! I ended up putting asparagus in to the two taller ones. 👍
