I don't really understand how you could be half way around the world when your own mother is dying. You don't want to cancel the show? I hope she died suddenly and wasn't sick for a long time waiting for a son who never came to be with her. Yeah, I know contracts and commitments and so on, but jeez, your own mother? That said, most of us don't know the details of what his mother's health was.
I am shocked, SHOCKED, that the musicians aren't doing cutesy cutesy smiley smiley faces at each other, like orchestras of today do when filmed, as per the whim of the video director in order to make great music more friendly to all the stupid people out there that don't understand anything anyways. SHOCKED!!! Heavens to Betsy, is this why they are better than today's orchestras? Will we ever know? Oh no... I"m going to get another flood of "that's not nice" and "what do you know" sent to me. Oh the pain, the ranker, the filth!!!
Picked this set up and another with orange covers many years ago. Some wonderful music is contained on those 10 LP's which include several other fine work by Adamis. Nice to see this here. Dimitris Dragatikis' "Zalouh" from the other set is my favorite. Never understood a word and never regretted buying them.
haha Adrian it is very clear that you have no idea who Martha Argerich is and how of a giant she is on the piano - Martha Argerich is the best living pianist and she is considered one, if not the best, pianist of our century and you think that she cares about hairstyle. She is 80 and she can play better than every single young pianist currently on earth. Her natural hair is her signature and a beautiful message to everybody: when you have a talent you do what you love and you care nothing about the rest and you are still the best pianist in the world. Can you say the same of people who care about their hair but then they are below average and will never be remembered for anything?
@@francescoelia.marino You have obviously not heard or heard of Clara Haskell or Dame Myra Hess or Dinu Lipatti or Artur Schnabel or William Kapell or Van Cliburn or Leon Fleischer. I don't care about the hair if I get the sound but for a typist the hair is important
hi Alex. Thanks for sharing this great video. Would you mind adding English subtitles? This would help so much to everyone interested in Christou's work but unable to speak greek. Many many thanks!
Translation of the preliminary commentary: Christou’s personal musical code is founded upon the philosophy of the perpetual movement “beginning-end-beginning”, “life-death-life” - consistently expressed in the ambitious “representations” project. These “representations” hark back to the rituals of distant prehistory that represented the drama of natural decay, in an effort to exorcise man’s terror. One out of a total of 130 representations by Christou is "the pianist”, written specifically for the performer Gregory Semitecolo. Its subject is the dramatic clash between a pianist and the piano itself, in front of an audience with which he is unable to communicate.
I had a feeling Gregg wouldn't be here for long after Mama A left...how sad....he endured 2 years longer, but with Mama and Duane gone, he just had to go home. I keep reminding myself of how happy he must be, but he left alot of people who miss him deeply. God bless you Gregg, Duane, Mama and Willis (Bill). After a very long and very bumpy road, you're all home now and together...and this road here, it will go on forever.
You are right, Mr. Sharrard. This is an incredible performance of my favorite song written by Mr. Allman. He ( and all the rest of Y'all) were truly " Hittin The Note "." Eat A 🍑 For ✌️"🎶🍑🍄❤️🎶
Maria Grand is an "Organic Real Jazz" artist. She can structure and deliver extemporaneous beauty with haunting pathos and believability. Never have known that Antoine is also a soprano saxophone virtuoso. The lad is assuredly an old head and hands from centuries of yore. Needless to say more about him; it's self-evident. Wise posting!
there is nothing that can fill the place of someone's "Mama".................Rest in Peace Mama A and smile down on Gregg and his great music that brings joy to so many.....
